Tough one. He had a brawlers mentality but not the firepower.

    Ricardo finito Lopez
Jorge linares (yes I know of his losses)

very good technicians who weren't afraid to mix it up

Miguel cotto also seems to be judged pretty harshly by the last 3rd of his career

Virgil hill and montell griffin seem to be reduced to their devastating losses to jones.

Same with m.Spinks and some other Tyson victims, their losses to Tyson really hurt their legacies more than it should.

**** happens, Tyson and Jones were wiping everyone out for a while.

David have, who I'm not a fan of, gets a disproportionate level of disrespect for his out of ring antics compared to his actual in ring achievements at cruiserweight at least. The guy was a really great cruiserweight, regardless of how much a fraud he's been the last 5 years!

Manny Pacquiao. Yeah, seriously. People seem to only remember his run at 140 and above. The guy already had a 5 year stretch of dominance against legit ATGs at the lower weights before he even got to hatton and Cotto.

Shane Mosley, he never belonged above 147. Considering how much size he gave up, he gave an incredible effort against wink wright(who is also underrated)

Your right but never too much of anything from the fans because he was simply not that exciting .. and some big wins along the way ..

Another forgotten was Vernon Forrest who was a hell of a fighter ..

    I'd say Sumbu Kalambay.

Yeah, Estrada's excellent no doubt. I agree about the importance of the Sor Rungvisai fight too. I'm trying to think of the last fight from bantam downwards that was of equal signicance without the need for hindsight. The Donaire-Montiel unification seven years ago? Donaire was p4p rated and Montiel had just stunned Hasegawa, who was also p4p rated.

Who do you like for the win btw? Not to derail kev's thread or anything.....

That vague mini-era at super bantam was very good in general. McKinney, Jones, Ncita, Bungu, Barrera, Morales, Ledwaba and the like. A bit forgotten these days.

the complaint I have about Tim is he is like a poor mans Meldrick Taylor. Has great speed, but he fights inside.. Porter is like that also. Fast guys who fight inside. Works ok. Overwhelms most, but when they get an opponent fast enough to hit them they can lose. They are in punchers range.

Favoring Estrada to be honest, I feel he's too multi-faceted for the power punching Thai.

I will throw another name out there. Michael Nunn. Nunn in 1988 to 1990 was one of the best. I am not sure what derailed him. Maybe lack of focus. A lot like Tyson. 2 great years where he could beat anyone, and then maybe distractions get to him. Maybe it would have been better for his career path had he decisioned Kalambay. The way he beat Tate in 1988 was impressive.

Oba Carr. He never won a title I don`t believe. Carr came along when the Welterweights were very tough. He lost title bouts to Trinidad, Quartey and DelaHoya. He fought well in all those fights. Carr would have won a title in most other eras. At least a belt.
