    james toney.

i can't see greb and i don't like monzon to beat him.

not that toney's the 4th best mw ever, i just like his chances against hagler.

Leonard wasn't agressive and he beat Hagler. Hopkins was bigger, stronger, more powerful than Leonard and also reigned at lightheavyweight,.

the controversial last fight of a guys career isn't really representative.

i don't write off hopkins chances, that's one of the greatest fighters ever. i see hagler winning mot of the rounds tho.

There are probably a lot that ‘could’ beat him, I will answer assuming the intention is to list who I believe should be favourites against him.
While none of these guys are a lock, I would favour Robinson, and Monzon, from the era when MW were middle weights not boiled down LHW enjoying he day before weigh in. (Pet peeve of mine, throws a wrench into historical matchups)
I also don’t include the sacred cows from yesteryear, like Greb, as I have no accurate way to assess them. Doesn’t mean they couldn’t do it.
I’d be remiss not to point out that Hagler could sometimes fight a bit tentatively, see Vito, Duran, etc. if he had one of those nights the list grows to a lot more than SRR and Monzon.

There are at least 20 middleweights that Hagler would've struggled with. MW is historically a pretty deep division.
Plus Hagler didn't beat any outstanding natural middleweights, certainly not any that would be considered ATGs.
I say this as a big Hagler fan
