Eh, Lamont Peterson loved to fight on the inside. Porter dove in all the time to get inside and throw looping shots but I guess you're right he wasnt exactly phone booth. Not like Peterson or Toney.
I agree on the first two and think they are on a different level than the rest. The way they used their waist, shoulders, forearms, to setup and evade shots is a level of inside game you don’t see anymore. Starts with the ability to close distance.
Tua looked like nothing against Lewis because he was roided hypejob really. Lewis was a roidhead too but it shouldn't have been that lopsided. Tua would get utterly destroyed in this generation. Povetkin would do well at phonebooth HW. Also Lemieux would be pretty good. Even though Golovkin can do the close range thing, he actually tried to fight Lemieux and Canelo pretty long so it's not his favourite place. Lemieux just gets in close and throws haymakers.
