Obviously GSP fights extremely intelligently. I felt Machida did as well although he got KTFO by Rua. Rua is pretty smart himself. Who else?
Anderson Silva is a smart fighter IMO. He always shows an ability to stick to his game plan and never get rattled. Mentally he's very strong and seems to at times out think his oppoents. Frank Mir is another guy that's extremely intelligent. Before a fight he breaks down his opponents strengths and compare them to his, and goes into the deep science of the fight. He'll win and lose some, but he definetly has a great idea (for the exception of the Lesnar rematch) of what to do coming into a fight.
Hughes always fought to his strengths, and tried to develop the rest of his game (got very good at sub grappling, not so great at striking) You could look at Militich and Ruas as the first fighters to have multiple options and gameplan their fights based on the opponent.
randy consistently has the best strategies, his demolition of tito, chuck and gonzaga were text book gameplan.. sherk has the worst.
