Let's just agree to disagree on this. It doesn't go anywhere. We had 40 pages of this last week.

A sovereign state and a country are not mutally exclusive terms, a sovereign state is a country, a country is usually a sovereign state. so you are partially right when you say the UK is a state, but entirely wrong when you say the UK is not a country.

"Peace out" - did anyone tell you that it isn't 1997 anymore?

Bute = Romanian Canadian/Canadian Romanian (whatever the correct phrase is). He's in the process of getting his Canadian citizenship but he will not renounce his Romanian citizenship. You can hold both as far as I know. If anything, Bute's more Canadian than Romanian, at least in my eyes. :good

What are you talking about? You mean its NOT 1997? ****. I must look really stupid then using words like "peace out", "fanny flap", "dip ****" and "spaz".

In political terms the UK is a country as it falls under one government (soverign state). We are in agreement here. However, in geographical terms the UK is not a country

    Peace out

It's a legitimate question. England, Wales, and Scotland are all separate countries. Great Britain is the area that consists of these 3 countries. How can a country consist of other countries? Does Great Britian have one government that rules over all 3 of these countries?

Yes, it does - as well as Northern Ireland.

They do have their own assemblies however, but ultimately the decisions are made at No. 10 Downing Street.

Two minutes ago you were saying the UK isn't a country, now you are saying it is. :-( There goes you credibility.

Yeah, it isn't 1997, and you're NOT a Californian schoolgirl, so "Peace out" is an odd choice of phrases.

The United States is a sovereign state, so how can a state be made up of states?

I think this is probablly the dumbest discussion ever on ESB. Arguing semantics.

I'd be happy if Sweden had any noticeable fighters at the moment.
