Who do you think are the top 10 fighters (in order) from 1995 onwards?

This thread was done in the Brit forum by someone. I decided to repeat it in here as there are a fair list of contenders....

Here are my choices probably open to great criticism but there you go... who are yours?

    1. Roy Jones Jr
    2. Floyd Mayweather Jr
    3. Lennox Lewis
    4. Oscar De La Hoya
    5. Manny Pacquiao
    6. Marco Antonio Barrera
    7. Erik Morales
    8. Bernard Hopkins
    9. Felix Trinidad
    10. Evander Holyfield (wins over Tyson, Moorer, Ray Mercer, and a draw with Lewis in this period - WBA, WBC, IBF Heavy weight titles)

    10 - 20 in no order...
Ricardo Lopez, Jaun Manuel Marquez, Johnny Tapia, Joe Calzaghe, Winky Wright, Shane Mosley, Kostya Tszyu, Ricky Hatton, Wladimir Klitschko, Prince Naseem.

I did think about putting Floyd above Roy...

Good list, but I can't have Holyfield in mine. By the end of '97 after his wins over Moorer and Tyson, I never thought he was the same. If you're taking the time period to be 1995-2008, IMO Holyfield doesn't justify inclusion for 3 wins gained 1995-1997. But that's just my opinion.

    My ten is:

    1.Roy Jones Jr

    2.Floyd Mayweather

    3.Lennox Lewis

    4.Bernard Hopkins

    5.Oscar De La Hoya

    6.Manny Pacquiao

    7.Marco Antonio Barrera

    8.Erik Morales

    9.Felix Trinidad

    10.Joe Calzaghe

Honourable mentions: Juan Manuel Marquez (11th), Winky Wright (12th), Johnny Tapia (13th), Shane Mosley (14th), Kostya Tszyu (15th).

Sorry, but I cannot accept Naseem Hamed or Wladimir Klitschko even being mentioned in this discussion!! Hamed never beat one top quality fighter in his entire career, and Wlad simply isn't good enough and never was. Those two would not dent my top twenty.

Beat #4 rated Barber to win his belt.

Beat #1 rated and linear champ Hill for 3 belt unification.

    Won Cruiser WBO belt.

    Beat #3 Montell Griffin.

Beat top 10 rated Harmon, Hall (x2), and Rochigianni (x2).

IMO he ranks slightly ahead of guys like Hamed and Tszyu and slightly behind guys like Hopkins and Morales.

Great list, but I'm not so sure Holyfield should be top 10. He did most of his best work pre 1995, and suffered a lot of defeats over the past 10 years.
