    The shot Valdez finished off Briscoe with in '74 rivals ANY power punch thrown by anyone, especially considering the recipient of the bomb was the anvil-chinned Bad Bennie.

    Lloyd Marshall, I know a lot of his opponents spoke highly of his power and I believe Burley claimed he was the hardest hitter he faced.

    Archie Moore during his early days fought at 160lbs and his number of knockouts speak for itself.

    Joe Choynski weighted around 160lbs most of his career i personally feel he was the hardest hitter at this weight here are some quotes about his power:

    Jack Johnson said "Jeffries had a solid wallop and Fitz[simmons] could knock your head off but that man Choynski could paralyze you even when he didn't catch you flush. In my opinion, he was the hardest hitter, pound for pound, of the last 50 years ... I think his left hook was much more effective than either Dempsey's or Louis's"

    Jim Jeffries said "he hit me so hard he broke my nose and wedged my lip between my teeth. He drove my head so far back I thought my neck stretched a foot"

    I like Choynski, Fitzsimmons, Julian Jackson, Benn, Abraham, Ketchel, Hart, Mclellan, Burley, Moore, and Valdez, in no particular order. Talk about splitting hairs, though- even the guys who didn't quite make the top 10 could still break teeth and rattle brains enough to make you cringe for their opposition.

    edit: and apparently, I can't count because I forgot to put Ketchel on, so I'll just stick with 11

    ...and Hearns was an exceptional puncher -at WW, JMW, MW, and probably SMW.

    If one is looking at puching power alone, without technique or other assets, the the Net might have to be widened ? not Great Fighters but if you left your chin on offer you might regret it with these guys

    LHW as well as he dropped Andries five times and stopped him inside the distance. I don't think his power at SMW was much different than at LHW.
