In 1996 the ring magazine compiled a list of the Top 50 fighters in the last 50 years: No.1 Ray Robinson The last 50 years, the last 100, doesn`t matter. He`s the greatest of all-time. No.2 Muhammad Ali Wit apologies to Joe Louis, he`s the greatest heavyweight of all-time. No.3 Roberto Duran Who can match his mix of talent and ferocity, accomplishment, and longevity? No.4 Willie Pep He`s the greatest defensive fighter ever. No.5 Ray Leonard The dominant fighter of the 80`s, he was every bit as good as the hype. No.6 Julio Cesar Chavez Sr Enjoyed a lengthy stay at the top of the p4p ratings. No.7 Carlos Monzon Check the record books, went undefeated for 13 years and 81 bouts; made a division record 14 successful defenses. (this record was later broken by GGG and Hopkins). No.8 Alexis Arguello He went 19–1 in title fights at 126, 130, and 135 pounds. No.9 Eder Jofre Unbeaten in his first 50 fights; great bantamweight who took three years off returned to win the feather title. No.10 Ike Williams Lightweight champ with welterweight power. Notable mention: Floyd Mayweather, I feel he may have been able to beat one or two of these guys and p4p he would have given anyone a run for their money, I also feel Bud Crawford may turn out even beter with Floyd, but he has to beat Spence first and the same goes for Loma, if he beats Garcia then that places him somewhere on this list I feel.
