    1. George Foreman
    2. Earnie Shavers
    3. Julian Jackson
    4. Thomas Hearns
    5. Gerald Mcclellan
    6. Nigel Benn
    7. Felix Trinidad
    8. Israel Vasquez
    9. Diego Corrales
    10. Lennox Lewis

Damn, this list is hard as many of them have comparable power in a p4p sense.

I would put Wilfredo Gomez, Naseem Hamed, Alexis Arguello, and David Tua over the likes of:

Lennox Lewis, Corrales, Vasquez, Trinidad, and Benn.

McClellan's power was great; he had Benn running for cover.

I just said this was tough list and Tyson was a great puncher, but no better at one punch kos than anyone on the list. Don't knock the list unless you come up with up with something better than the obvious mention of Tyson.

You could put them ahead but that doesn't make them harder punches. All of them were known for starching guys and with the exception of Lewis they were also known for koing guys after they were stunned or knocked down.

I wouldn't consider Mike Tyson to be in the top 5. But he deserves to be one the list.

Julian Jackson is the hardest hitter p4p in the history of the sport in my opinion. One punch knockouts are all over his resumes, including his one of his most memorable vs Terry Norris.

Yeah, I've only been watching boxing for about 20 years or so and I fought in the lowly unknown Golden Gloves program in high school. Tyson was an explosive combo puncher, but Trinidad and Corrales koed some rock chinned competition in their prime as well. This list is subjective also as there is probably 10 other great punchers who could replace every name on the list.

    Indeed.

Trying to put together a list of top 10 hardest punchers is one of the most challenging.

    They aren't hitting us.

You must be new to boxing. Tyson had devastating power even when he didn't hit precisely. Pure power overrated - thats a hoot.

I think most of Tyson's knockouts were a lot to with his tremendous handspeed aswel as his pure power.

In terms of pure power, he isn't among the top 5.

Shavers didn't have as good of technique but his power was so great, it was knocking guys out anyway.

Vasquez and Trinidad had respectable power. They weren't jokes.

I had Wilfredo Gomez quite low but the more I think about it, he probably deserves a top 5 spot.
