As no-one has mentioned Carlos de Leon or Jonny Nelson yet both deserve a mention. Holyfield is by far the best & a lock for #1, after that its anyone from several. PS, including fighters who fought below 200lbs before the cruiserweight division was introduced is cheating. Marciano beats everybody below 190lbs, only Tunney would last the distance
i think a prime Dempsey would give Marciano all he could handle. Louis weighted about 200lbs and I think in his prime he too would beat Marciano.
I say again, no-one under 190 would beat Marciano imo. Prime Dempsey & Louis were both naturally heavier.
Jones jr and James Toney would have given Marciano the business - and those are just two names off the top of my head.
Dempsey weighed about 187lbs when he fought Willard. That is considered one of the most brual beating a champion ever took and Willard weighed about 245. The thought going into the fight was fear that Willard would kill him, and instead the exact opposite almost happened. That fighter, who was under 190lbs would very likely have beaten Marciano and yes that was his prime.
how do you have 1 cruiserweight title fight like toney and only 2 by haye and have them ranked in the top 5?
cunningham is 4-2 as an ibf cruiserweight title holder with no unification fights, taking almost 5 years to those 6 fights done..... top 5 of all time....is a joke in itself
Dont think Adamek or Haye should be on that list. They just flat out did not stick around long enough to cement a legacy. 'yeah b..bu..but...Haye unified"....if you are going to give him that much credit then Bell should be a notch above Haye.
