Who out of the thousands that have graced the "Noble Art" are the consensus top ten all time pound for pound fighters?
I'll throw out some provisional names to get the ball rolling.

    Greb
    Robinson
    Charles
    Langford
    Moore
    Duran
    Fitzsimmons
    Armstrong
    Leonard [Benny]
    Pep

IMO there's a consensus 13 or 14 and one can decide who are the Top 10 from there.

    Harry Greb
    Ray Robinson
    Sam Langford
    Henry Armstrong

    Ezzard Charles
    Muhammad Ali
    Roberto Duran
    Packey McFarland

    Joe Gans
    Benny Leonard
    Archie Moore
    Barney Ross
    Bob Fitzsimmons

The only guy i'd suggest are absolute locks:

    Langford
    Robinson
    Armstrong
    Greb
    Fitzsimmons

I can't see any argument against those guys being included that is reasonable.

Just for the sake of argument, the problem with Fitzsimmons is while he has the longevity of reigning over the sport he lacks the actual number of standout victories.

Put him side by side with other ATGs and no one can compete with how LONG he was No. 1. But 1-30 can probably surpass his number of quality wins.

Mayweather, too, was pound-for-pound No. 1 longer than a lot of men you and I would rank above him.

i wouldn't rule out pacquiao belonging on that third level. flyweight champion to welterweight champion in this day and age is quite an achievement that hasn't gotten due appreciation.. yet..

So how do you work out pound for pound? It seems that lighter weight fighters have a better chance of been chosen judging by some of the lists.

I realize you are going with a new age list but do some research on the older dudes as well :bbb

Any list without Roy Jones is incorrect.

I will give the underlined the due respectful consideration it deserves. You have two amateur boxers on a list of p4p all time top ten greats.
Another of your choices Papp , was never even the number one or two man in his own division during his career.

    Did you understand the question?

I think Fitz makes most lists primarily because he won three undisputed world titles.Of course there was not the depth of competition in them that came later, and your points are well taken. Others for consideration might include.

    Walcott[Joe]
    Pacquiao
    Mayweather
    Whitaker
    Chavez

I agree, because of their size heavyweights are up against it here, but that's just how the breaks work.

Robinson and Greb - yes, the other 3 are argueable at best.
