Who are the top ten heavyweights who never received a title shot?

I would say Langford for sure. Slavin, Choysnki, Jeanette, Wills, and McVey should rate.

You could make an argument for Jackson, Valdez, Ibeabuchi, Morrsion as well, though Jackson had an offer and declined it. Anyone want to build this monster?

Does Wlad Klitchsko Count? One or both cant really be considered the lineal champon while the other is active.

Some other guys who might have question marks but could be right in the mix with above guys are:
    McCarthy, Darcy, Ibeauchi, Jones Jr,

Also, at least in the honorouable mention list and maybe even higher, I wouldnt mind seeing Dooley, Jeanette and Foley.

I composed my list on the assumption that Wlad will be recognised as the lineal champion by historians.

I think it is pretty much a done deal now.

Lewis gave Vitally a shot at the lineal title.

    Machen should be in there.

Kid Norfolk could have been on the list.

Most of the guys listed here were no.1 contenders or close to it. There must be countless half-forgotten fringe contenders who made the top 10 at some point but never got a title shot - Henry Clark, Roger Rischer, Billy Daniels, Alejandro Lavorante, Amos Johnson, Mike DeJohn, Bob Cleroux, Amos Lincoln, Elmer Rush... those are just the first ones I can think of from the 60s.

Vitali is retired and was booted from the RING top 10 before the Povetkin fight.

Quarry for sure. He fought Ali, Frazier and Norton, but not for the lineal title.

Satterfield is a bit of a stretch

Perhaps the top 10 is a stretch but he deserves mention. Satterfield was erratic but had a fine resume and surely ranks among the most dangerous HW punchers not to get his chance at gold. He collected wins over HW contenders: Tommy Gomez, Nino Valdez, Bob Baker, Lee Oma, John Holman, and Cleveland Williams. Oma, Baker, and Valdez were top 5 when he beat them. Also beat #2 LHW Harold Johnson who was also contending for the HW title.
