how is sylvia the worst? yes he was boring but look at who he beat. He also defended his title multiple times, and was champ multiple times. sorry but that makes him better than a host of mma champs, no matter how unpopular that is.
hahahaha yea but sylvia never really impressed anyone with his wins like anderson silva, gsp or fedor did.
Tito needs a mention. He didn't have the worst run ever but Chuck was fighting all the best opponents and it was disgraceful how he ducked him for so long.
i'm fairly new to mma and although i've seen a fair few fights, i wouldn't say i've seen loads like some people here have. a few people have mentioned that matt serra wasn't a good fighter, why is that? i thought he was regarded as pretty good on the ground?
Serra isn't a bad fighter. He is getting a lot of guff in this thread because A) He never defended the title successfully, and in fact lost his next fight after becoming champion to the same guy he beat for the title. B) He clearly won the title in a fluke of a fight. He was certainly the better man that night but it is clear that he would lose to GSP 99 out of 100 times and just HAPPENED to win on that night. C) A lot of people just think he is a *****.
i must admit i got sick of his 'war' on TUF with hughes. it seemed that all they were concerned about was eachother, especially hughes[who is a *****]. as for serra losing his title straight away? i get the impression that title do change hands regularly in mma. mind you i haven't done any research on this so i could be quite wrong, but thats the feeling i get. it seems some fighters don't have to have many fights under their belt to get a title shot either.
I thought matt hughes was just playing up on the show however he is a good guy in real life he seems real down to earth and humble dude now.
he was such a good guy in the past he tortured and killed animals. in my book he is a **** and i'd be very happy if i heard of his early death tbh.
you cant duck anyone in UFC cuz there is people who decide who is gonna fight you and not you, you can pull out of a fight due to injury but if you dont fight who they put in front of you then you dont have the belt anymore
he let the fighters read the bible in instead of training, and said "tell me which character i am in there" meaning they dont just have to scroll through it but they have to read it and process the info. so he was basically pushing his religion on the fighters
