Let me say one thing. I have never seen a more incompetent, useless, delusional trainer the Michael Katsidis trainer. And I do mean never. You were horrible. Michael was getting whooped every round. Michael would go back to his corner, they would tell how great he was doing and keep it up. Then the guy complained about the decision being controverisal.

All Juan Diaz did was hold his gloves up real high and block punches with his gloves. Katsidis fought like an idiot, and headhunted all night right into Diaz's gloves. I have seen Diaz's other fights, usually he blocks punches with his face and goes to war. Nate Campbell landed damn near every punch he threw against Daiz, because he went to the body. All Diaz does: hold gloves high, hold gloves low. That was too much of code to crack for Katsidis corner, work the body some and make Daiz lower his gloves. Land to the wide open body, make him worry about body punches, then land cleaner and higher % upstairs. That would seem like some obvious advice to give. What Michael was doing wasn't working obviously, despite what he was telling him.

Amir Khan seems to think he lost because of his new trainer. Khan lost because he has no chin. And it was bound to happen sooner then later.

Yeah that was pretty awful, what made it worse was how he conducted himself in the post-fight interview

It's his fault to tell him brawl with a guy who hits hard when he knew Khan had a **** chin.

Ya but wasn't Rubio put there to make Khan's defense better?? What do they call that kind of defense? The art of chin blocking?

It's Rubio's fault he picked an undefeated 90% KO ratio opponent when you have a chinny fighter

Did he really tell Khan to go out guns blazing and brawl? I doubt it, knowing what Khan's chin is like. Khan was hurt by a jab early on, wtf can you do when that happens?

That could happen to David Haye at HW, get shaken by a stiff jab. God knows his chin will be just as bad at HW against the much bigger punchers.

Am I the only guy that thinks McGirt is a damn good trainer? I just think he trains too many fighters and like Steward and Floyd senior has become a gun for hire...but I thought he was instrumental in reviving Gatti's career after the DLH fight and teaching him to box a little. I also think Tarver would've never beaten Jones had it not been for McGirt. His fighters have been losing a lot the last couple years but again I think it has more to do with him "being in demand" and training to many fighters and not working with established fighters long enough to develope a chemisty. You can't bring a new coach in in the NBA mid-season and expect him to get you to the finals. Steward's fighters have been losing a lot too and i think for its for the same reasons. He's training too many guys and not spending enough time developing them individually....plus its still up to the fighter to go out and execute and you can't blame the trainer for everything.

The problem with Mcgirt is he trains all his fighters to fight exactly the same way despite their strengths and weaknesses.

Mcgirt seemed to think it was a good idea for Gatti to box with Mayweather. No, no, you don't box the boxer, you fight the boxer. Gatti absolutey had no chance boxing like that. The only slim chance Gatti had was to let his hands go, brawl and try and hurt him like Corley did. He tried turning Lamon Brewster into a boxer. Problem is Brewster is not a good boxer, he hits really hard and has a great chin.

Mcgirt could be training prime Mike Tyson and he would try and make Tyson box more and be less aggressive.

He should have circled away and use his faster hands to outbox the guy not run in a straight line trying to brawl.
