Sharmba Mitchell, Arum set him up with that fight as he awaited the winner of Jab Judah vs who was the #1 WW and top 5 OR 8 p4p at the time vs Baldomir. Who also posed a ton of stylistic problems for Mayweather. Since Cotto, Hatton, Hoya, and Mosley all turned down fights and he couldn't come to an agreement with Winky Wright on the purse split.

Who wouldn't have wanted to see Round s 8,9,10,11,12 Margarito vs Jr. Or 6 foot 2 Paul Williams throwing 1200 punches in a fight with Mayweather. Or a peak Mosely. Or 2009 and Pacquiao Or Or Or Jr has explained he is a business man not a Warrior (and a Bull**** artist). He avoid the peaks of the Division .

 

Even if he did duck Winky, which he would have lost if he took that fight. There was really no reason for them to fight, if they were in the same weight class then It would be something.

Though I think Mayweather would have fought Winky at that time, Mayweather was starving for any payday. Arum was using his brain though as his promoter.

The opportunity and time was perfect for each of these fights over the last ten/fifteen years and majority of them happened either too late or not at all.

Once again, don't care why or how or why not - it just should have happened.
