That doesn't explain the gag order and Oscar and the silence of Mayweather's camp prior and right after the deadline.

Gag order was that Greenburg told both sides to keep their mouth shut and both sides agreed. I don't see how that is important to anything. Oscar may have believed that Floyd would eventually accept Arum's contract of 50/50 with 14 day cutoff or that maybe Floyd would come to the table and try to work out a compromise.

Mayweather's camp silence is exactly what you should expect out of Floyd. He sees himself as the big fish with all of these little fish clamoring for his attention. He pretends to not be affected by anything.

 

Mayweather camp are just "ducks in a row".

I believe both sides are not telling the entire truth.

 

I've never trusted what Arum says, and never will. Greenburg is most likely telling the truth in saying that there was some sort of negotiation, or attempt at negotiation...but even if Arum came out and said the exact same thing Greenburg has come out and said, I would still think Arum was lying. And I know that doesn't make sense because I've already stated Greenburg is most likely telling the truth, but oh well...it's Arum...

I think there was definitely an attempt at negotiation via Greenburg...but I think it was minimal. I say there was probably minimal negotiations because no-one really knew what was going on, Arum, De la Hoya, Schaefer, etc...Greenburg was most likely relaying positive information back to both camps because he thought he could make them come to an agreement. But, Mayweather no doubt already decided he wasn't fighting again this year, and made it clear...

 

It depends on what you define as negotiations. I'm sure there was dialogue, but I feel like negotiations were not to be had with Mayweather camp. I feel Arum said this is what we WILL do, this is only what WE WILL DO, and its your choice to accept or decline which obviously Mayweather laughed at...and now here we are.

if these people cant meet face to face or talk directly to each other then they both are at fault for no fight being made...this he said she said stuff is for kids and the fact is that neither side wanted the fight because arum and mayweather do not want to work together

 

I'm happy with this scenario too. But in my head - I will never ever consider Mayweather a G.O.A.T fighter, for this reason.

But i've no probem with him holding out for as much money.

As long as History remember Pacman as the one who was more willing to fight, took actual challenges in his career, wasn't afraid to lose, and go down as FOTD and as one of the GOAT

Really, this convoluted mess is the best you could do??? You and the few fans that still believe Mayweather are the biggest ENABLERS in the world. The DENIAL of NEGOTIATIONS could and SHOULD have happened the second after Arum announced his deadline, if nothing of the sort even took place. I know why they didn't issue it. Other wise Team Mayweather knowingly let a "lie" be told, in regards to them and without correcting it they've become part of the "lie" they accuse Arum of perpetrating. :bart

 

All I could do? I've reviewed all of the information publically available and this is what I believe happened. I'm not justfying it or providing an opinion.
