Hey may be the future, but he's still simmering. He's not quite right yet. Still has a lot of defensive flaws. He's got quick hands, of that there is no doubt.

Thats why i said "if he beats Shane"...I mean if he beats Shane there may be a small demand by fans to see a Berto-Mayweather fight..I have never seen Floyd in the ring with not just a "slick boxer" but a "slick athlete"...oscar was a great athlete but he didnt have the slickness that Berto brings to the table... I KNOW BERTO CHIN IS WEAK..BUT IF BERTO BEATS SHANE THAN HE WILL EARN THE FIGHT WITH FLOYD IMO (SHOULD FLOYD NOT TAKE THE PAC FIGHT CUZ PAC WONT DO THE PROPER TESTING)

    I can't vote, I like both guys a lot.
I think Shane had his time in the sun, but if he wins, he earned it.

My thoughts exactly. Is why I didn't vote either. Well said.

I voted Shane but honestly I'm a little ambivalent.. Long as the fight isn't a clinch fest, I'd be happy either way.

I think Shane matches up better with Pac/Floyd ( It seems the boxing community would like to see the winners of the two bouts to face each other later this year ). I doubt Floyd/Berto would face each other as they are both managed by Haymon ( correct me if I'm wrong ). Not hard for me to imagine Pac KOing Berto as his defense has far too many holes..

On the other hand, Shane's age is getting up there. Come fight night we will see if Shane is ready to pass the torch, and if Berto is worthy to accept. Berto has a very fan friendly style and should he win, may prove to be another asset to mainstream boxing.

Maybe. However, stylistically, Berto/Mayweather would be awful. It would be a boring fight that Mayweather would win. Floyd will sit on the outside and pot shot him, and when Berto's coming in Floyd's counter punching will eat him up. Its not the chin thats suspect, its his defensive. Collozo was a nightmare for Berto. Yes he(Berto)pulled it out, but it was all he could handle. Hell, on my score card Collozo eeked out a decision. Berto himself, hasn't faced a slickster the likes of Mayweather. It wouldn't be good for him.

Ur basing it off his 1 fight with Collazo...If he puts on a monsterous performance much like the 1 shane put on with Tony or if he takes a wide UD than he will be "hot" in the sport right now...if he beats Shane than he has a valid argument to call himself the BEST WELTERWEIGHT IN THE SPORT

    I agree..

Though I think any Floyd is all wrong for Berto.. I could even see Floyd stopping him late fighting a cagey inside fight, or coasting to an easy, lopsided UD pot shotting and countering

If Floyd tried to counter too much he could get tagged..Berto IMO has the faster hands...Berto is pretty solid on his inside fight game too...

I see Berto's slickness as his eventual undoing.. He's slick in a flashy way, not so much fundamental which is why so many his critics often site his defense as shaky. Berto has looked amazing against sub par competition, but has looked less then stellar when stepping up where his athleticism cannot carry him. He is still young so maybe he has improved. Time will tell

Floyd rarely ever leaves himself to be tagged while on his counter punching missions.. He often times falls into a defensive shell and allows his opponent to open up only to deliver a stifling series of punches.

Berto may have the edge in hand speed, but Floyd has boxing education and excellent timing on his side

Never underestimate a kid on the rise who is hungry.
You don't take a shot at Shane Mosley lightly, I guarantee berto trains his hardest ever.

Shane's getting old, time for the young bucks to take the spotlight.
