This type of thread has been done repeatedly, but I wanted to try give it a twist. Are there any political, social, emotional, or religious underpinnings as to why your favorite is who it is? Or any other different reason you can come up with as to why?

I tend to side with working class types which is probably why I'm a fan Froch.
Even though he is past his prime Sergio Martinez embodies a conscientious good guy that is a decent role model, big fan of his.
Most Argentines and Mexicans come from humble working class beginnings, which is why I tend to favor them.

What are your reasons or agenda if you have any, behind who you favor?

I root for guys based on their attitude. It's difficult to gauge a guy strictly through the media or interviews, but if the only aspect of themsleves they show through the media is of them being total assholes(broner) I'm certainly not rooting for them. And they can blame themselves for people feeling that way, it's not hard to be shown in a positive light. That being said I can't stand guys who are phony, Oscar, pacman, they just sound too scripted. I can't get fired up for someone who sounds like they're reading off a TelePrompTer. Aside from being rican, tito Trinidad was a great guy, never heard anyone in puerto say a bad word about him and he always brought it. Definitely my fav.

Oscar is a total phony, but Pacquiao I'm not sure if he can help it, his English is still pretty bad and I think Arum keeps him on a short lease, they have him on a script.

Broner is unbearable I've hated him since I laid eyes on him.

Klitschko, Golovkin, Kovalev are my favorite fighters at this time, they don't beat up women so many here hate them for it. To be a hero to Void fans a boxer has to beat up a woman................

I've only had 3 definite #1 favorite fighters in about a 3 decade span. Chavez, Barrera and JMM. Chavez hooked me into boxing and MAB and JMM were simply fighters I grew up watching live at the Great Western Forum. My dad used to take me to fights all the time and predicted that those 2 would be great champs(as it turns out, the man knew his boxing). Other than that, my favorite boxers are the Chavez-type(guys that just keep coming forward trying to knock their opponents out). Tyson, GGG, Mosley, Tito, Margarito, etc.

I got a thing about courage and valor as well, even though it may not be best for their long term health.

I don't have a favorite fighter. I find those that have them generally can't be unbiased. Mine used to be Roy Jones, but I was like 16 so what did I know?

For me, I get more excited about matchups (which is why this year has been a dud for me) but I always admire fighters that really dedicate themselves to being better. It takes incredible dedication to have the skill of a JMM or Floyd Mayweather for example... many other guys have looked the part (Berto, Broner) but don't have the intangibles and can't apply it in the ring. They're basically Karate blackbelts who only do kata.

I really don't have one "favorite"...I like different fighters for different reasons. The moste exciting fighter in the world IMO is james kirkland...but I also like the following:

    1. FMJ
    2. Rigondeaux
    3. Danny Jacobs
    4. Andre Ward
    5. Adonis stevenson
    6. Broner
    8. Hopkins

keith thurman and shawn porter are also rapidly climbing up the list of my favs.
