This can be all-time or just current figures in the sport. A few of my favorites at the moment: James Toney -- One of the best smack talkers ever, in any sport. Doesn't fight as well as he once did, but that hasn't stopped his verbal barrages. David Haye -- Haye has an opinion on everything and will say anything about anyone. I'm not a huge fan, but I do appreciate his ability to drum up interest via his mouth. Vic Darchinyan -- Never the shy type, Vic said what he would do to Cristian Mijares and then went out and delivered. And my current trash-talking favorite in all of boxing... Enzo Calzaghe Yes, he looks like BALCO scandal figure Victor Conte after a crash diet and can be annoying as hell, but it's moments like the following (see from 2:00 to 7:17 that make Enzo pure trash-talking gold: [yt][/yt] Those are some of my junk talking favorites in boxing. Who are yours, and why do you like their smack talk?
Enzo is the best. I swear he just blacks out and starts spewing **** everywhere. The guy will talk **** about everyone. Classic Enzo from 2 minutes on, as you said. Brilliant.
:good Enzo is the man. That riff in the video was fantastic. When you can get the crowd at a press conference saying "Kick his ass, Roy!" and "45 and 1!" you know you're doing something right. Enzo's also comedy gold between rounds in the corner. The way you put it is perfect, it's like he blacks out and just starts channeling some unknown junk-talking television station or something. Ha ha ha. :thumbsup
Haha, what a pisser "change mate, that's a song mate" He rambles on, but it's funny as hell when he does.
Oh, HELL yeah. I just completely forgot about him. He's even better than Enzo, or at least as good. Thanks for correcting my oversight on that score. :good
Enzo is hilarious. I don't even understand what the hell he says most of the time, I just hear a few random words now and again and a continued blur. His interviews before Enzo-Haye were gold.
"4 men coming to kick ass." I love how Enzo names himself as one of them, as if he plans on dishing out beatings. I'd hire Enzo to talk **** on my behalf, the guy is just unrelenting. He believes every word he says, that why i think he is so great
The other funny thing is you'll see Joe sitting there crinnging with his head in his hands every time :yep
I agree. It was unique to Ali, and everybody else seems like a cheesy imitation. These days, the whole trash talking thing just seems nasty and primitive. When I first got interested in boxing I was more impressed with the modest speaking guys with the awesome skills. The dignity caught my attention more than the rude, low life , third world type banter.
