Wlad. His movement was excellent but so unflashy as to be almost unnoticeable unless you were specifically looking for it.

His fight was Haye is a perfect example of how brilliantly he controlled range.

Machen is definitely one of the most underrated. I tend to think guys like Ali, Walcott, Holyfield, and Charles had superior footwork, but anybody who can run for 12 rounds has got to have strong legs.

For a guy who often weighed in excess of 240 lb and who was always a little loose around the midriff, Buster Mathis sure could move when he wanted to. A little strange seeing such an unathletic-looking guy, who was limited in so many other areas, being as bouncy on his toes and fleet of foot as he could be.

oh yes, another very underrated guy. Since you brought up His Rotundity, John Tate (more in shape) was a fairly good mover as well, although was not that impressive.

    George Foreman of the 70s
Possibly the very best at cutting off the ring, you don’t corner Ali like he did so effortlessly without nothing short of amazing footwork, The way George played matador with his outstretched arms, side steps and footwork coupled with his brute strength was nothing short of master class George is such an underrated technician.

very true, he was a master at cutting off the ring, but not really what I'm looking for, I'm talking about guys that can stay on their toes and move around the ring for a full 12-15 rounds whose legs can carry them out of danger when hurt and can dictate the action with movement. More pure boxer types. Although I do agree George's "footwork" was excellent for what he wanted to do.

George was technically quite crude, but he was a great tactician and knew exactly how to make his tools work for him. I've never thought about his footwork before, but you're correct in that it was very good for cutting off the ring and worked perfectly with his other weapons, his jab, his two-handed push, his wrestling and neck manipulation.

Not great fighters, but all tricky to pin down when they got on their bicycles.

Someone beat me to prime Foreman.
So I'll go with prime Tyson, he was very
light on his feet at his best.

Good point, although George was certainly not flashy.

On that criteria Ali by some considerable distance.
