List consist of fighters who once you've fought them, you hit the jackpot. This list consist of cash cows who move gates BY THEMSELVES My top 5, in no order - 1. Saul Alvarez 2. Anthony Joshua 3. Gervonta Davis 4. Katie Taylor 5. Errol Spence
Just like the recent "Face of Boxing" threads, this cash cow question is based on what country or part of the globe you're in. In America, I would say Canelo (although not as much as before) and it's admittedly a small sample size but given how Tank Davis' PPV buys grew dramatically when he fought Ryan Garcia I would say Garcia may be a cash cow.
I suppose if you wanted to make a separate women's list, then she'd be at the top. But it's a joke to put her in a list of top 5 that includes men. She doesn't even crack the top 20 men.
Taylor vs Serrano was a huge fight. DAZN was more than happy once the viewership numbers came in. But it´s one thing to pull big ratings, it´s another to sell PPV´s. If they had faith in Taylor being a true superstar, then we would have already seen her headline a PPV.
The amounts on the checks are very different but the process is similar. For several years every female boxer with ambition had her eyes on Katie Taylor. Fighting her was the big payday and the way to bring your career to a certain level you couldn't reach except by fighting her, even in defeat.
There is no doubt that she is the woman to fight in boxing. She is the star. And by definition, she is a cash cow as she is clearly able to sell tickets and draw ratings. However, if you put her together with the boys... she frankly isn´t that impressive of a draw. Jose Carlos Ramirez is able to sell as many tickets and does/used to do similar numbers in TV ratings. There are more than just 3 boxers who are bigger draws than Taylor.
