Loma is the greatest southpaw in the sport today but who are the other four in today`s game or who were the top 5 of all-time?
This just got me thinking, I wonder why there are so few heavyweight southpaws. Other than Luis Ortiz and Usyk, who are some prominent heavyweight southpaws? I know I am forgetting some guys.
Whitaker Byrd Hagler (ambidextrous) Usyk Calzaghe Very honorable mentions to Lomachenko, and Sultan Ibragimov
Historically Moorer, Byrd, Sanders, Ibragimov and Chagaev, Tony Thompson Would assume it wad hard to get bouts for SPs in the division and they were taught to fight rightie. As Cuban style and EE/Central Asian fighters have been making a mark they've crafted more SP's. As for current heavyweight southpaws Charles Martin, Zhan Kossobutskiy, Otto Wallin, Bakhodir Jalolov, Zhang Zhilei ... It's not as many as I'd have guessed...
Loma is more skilled and a better P4P fighter, but is more vulnerable at 135 where Manny was stronger than Loma, at lighter weights Loma would probably out-point Manny.
