I'd give both Holman Williams and Eddie Booker a shot. And the obvious SRR.

I'd have a tough time with Hearns.

However, what gym do you box out of? These verbal beat-downs you've become accustomed to are getting tiresome. You're too easy. I'd love to come down to your gym and give you a concussion. Who knows -you may wake up with more intellectual fortitude.

You don't have to plant your feet to jab.

I've heard some people say Luis Rodriguez, but admittedly I haven't seen him fight.

What I am getting at is that much depends on how mobile Hearns chooses to be.

If he is going to work on the back foot for the whole fight then he will have a harder time landing the power shots.

    Sugar Ray Robinson
    McCallum
    Burley
Leonard - maybe he'd do better
Mayweather - scoff but its a possibility
    Napoles

Another interesting pick might be Tiger Flowers who I think could probably make 154 lbs using the same methods as Hearns. He was a master boxer, quick as grease lighting, powerfull, elusive, and a switch hitter to boot.

Like Hearns he could be vulnerable in the durability department so anything can happen.

The only person that outpointed Hearns, Iran Barkley, took the fight to Hearns. Hearns was past his prime at that point, but Barkley stopped Hearns when he took the fight to him years earlier.

You would have to have a fighter, which will probably be smaller, capable of taking the fight to Hearns without getting knocked out.

Off the top of my head, the only fighter that would be tough enough to try to bull Hearns and not get stopped would be Carmen Basilio. Basilio was strong enough to compete at middleweight, and split fights with the 5'11'' Ray Robinson. I only mention Ray's height because Basilio would be giving up 2 more inches against Hearns.

I don't know if I'd be willing to bet that Carmen Basilio would take Hearns, but he is the only person I can think of giving a chance to with short notice. I just don't see anyone outboxing him.

Now, as I just finished typing all of that, I thought of another. Henry Armstrong.

Maybe a very quick in-fighter who could smother hearns and out work him. Not sure if I could think of one.

Kid Galvin was a top notch tall boxer at 154 in his prime. He might have a shot.

    How about Greb?

I'd bet he could make 154 under today's weigh-in rules.

Without knockdowns or a stoppage it's almost impossible. Robinson, but even then I'm not sure he'd outpoint him.

Over 10 rounds it's very, very hard. Look at how Hearns dominated most of the rounds against Leonard, one of the greatest boxers you'll ever see.
