For once, end thread. It's not debatable within the realm of sanity.

my knowledge of boxing in the 80's isnt great so cant really answer.

i know manny definetly hasnt beated anyone better than a prime welterweight Ray Leonard.

However going off depth, Manny looks better to me.

Although happy to be proven wrong by people who know more about that era.

Ray Leonard > Marco Antonio Barrera
    Carlos Palomino > Miguel Cotto
Ernesto Marcel > Juan Manuel Marquez
    Ken Buchanan > Ricky Hatton
    Esteban DeJesus = Erik Morales
    Iran Barkley > Joshua Clottey
    Davey Moore > Antonio Margarito

Outside of that, Duran has Viruet 2x, Ishimatsu, Lampkin, Mamby, Cuevas, Villa, Kobayashi, Castro, Thompson, Fernandez, etc.

Manny has Sasakul, Ledwaba, De La Hoya, Mosley, Diaz, Larios, etc.

This isn't close. Just because you don't know **** about the 70's Lightweight contenders doesn't mean you can just dismiss them as "C class fighters."

They're not ranked in any order, just comparing wins. Buchanan was definitely better than Palomino, at least P4P.

Duran of course. Pacquiao has a GREAT resume, but Duran's was unbelievable.
