Well, I'm not really that knowledgeable. I talk out of my ass a lot, and only sometimes is it jokingly.

Anyway, it's honestly the site, man. There are some guys with top rate, first-hand experience in the sport, great in-depth analysts, and noted historians on this site, and I've been here for 2 years longer than you. Well over half of what I know I learned on here, and when I first joined, ESB was basically riding out it's peak, as far as I can tell.

On some real **** though, Robinson had better power when he moved up to 154-160 as a legit middleweight circa Summer 1949. Real talk, he did. Nobody has either agreed or disagreed with me yet though. :verysad I'm sick of hearing about how he was better in every form, fashion, facet, category, attribute as a Welterweight. Negative!

 

You have no way of knowing if I took it literally! I Perhaps I was just playing along, making it seem as if I were truly shocked for weak comic affect? Maybe I just saw an opportunity to throw some praise McGrain's way and took it because I have a sneaking suspicion that getting in good with him grants you access to the real ESB and as many top of the line kilts as you could ever want? On point though, it's possible that the majority of Welters he faced were just trickier defenders who could avoid being quite so overwhelmed by his speed and power. He may have adopted a slightly more aggressive style as he stepped up in weight too, for whatever reason. You're right though. As far as results go, Middleweight version would appear to be the more devastating hitter.

I think if Burley at all stood in the way of what Robinson was trying to accomplish or was a painstakingly obvious No. 1 contender for either of the world titles Robinson held at the times he had them, it would've gone down.
