Bivol out skilled him in a lot of ways too. Canelo could barely find Bivol and I'm not referring to his arm punches. Even when he tried to go to the body, Bivol tucked his elbows in and blocked those hooks to the body. Bivol is just super technically sound. Is he as good as Floyd? Hell no, but I disagree that he just outfought him.

You're basing your scores on suspect Compubox numbers. Canelo landed the better harder more eye catching shots in rounds 1-4 and deserved to win those rounds. Now if you disagree and scored some of those to Bivol, fine but don't tell me you can't score those rounds to Canelo. He landed tremendous uppercuts on Bivol and was defensively responsible in those rounds. Bivol landed no shots in those rounds that compared to those brutal uppercuts.

Punches on arms and elbows are not scoring punches.

I'm not referring to arm punches. I'm referring to the uppercuts and the other legal shots he landed in 1-4 which were better than Bivol's punches in those rounds.

LOL no they weren't. Secondly, canelo landed far less. He was lucky to get the 7-5 score. I had it 8-4 or even 9-3 depending on what you look for. Face it, Canelo had an awful night out.

Nothing wrong with 9-3 or 8-4 bud. But the Canelo uppercuts were tremendous, there's no denying that. Wouldn't call it an awful night for Canelo, but certainly not his best. He can do better in a rematch.

Bivol because he hurt Clenelo several times and put fear and doubt into him. He did far better than the Duck Duck goose style F-roid uses.

This Canelo was better but smaller, but then Mayweather played the game of making Canelo come in lighter. Which was mental at the time.

Mayweather sure did, which is why that win will always be tainted. No one's ever beaten Canelo at his normal weight. His only losses happened when he handicapped himself to give his opponent weight advantages.

Well this loss against Bivol was legit. He had been fighting bigger and looked good handpicking, so I think in this case he handpicked a good fighter. I didn't think Bivol was as good as he was, but I had a feeling it might be tougher when I saw his fight against Smith a day before and his jab was fast with a nice counter left. A fast jab if used well and sparingly without taking chances can win a fight. I always remember Hearns doing well against Leonard when he kept it simple. When he started to open up that gave Ray the openings he needed. Sometimes fighting simple is better if you can.

I agree the loss is legit, but it wasn't the best Canelo because he was fighting out of his weight class. He's not the same fighter at 175 than he is at 168, we saw that vs Kovalev too. Much slower right. But he's still a hell of a fighter at 175, just with less of a gas tank due to carrying more weight. It's a mental thing too, because when he isn't forced to make weight, he carries more body fat and isn't as effective as a fighter. Every extra lb you carry, that affects your speed, energy, stamina etc.
