Both Mayweather and Trout defeated Cotto but who had the more clear and convincing victory over him?

Trout but really doesn't mean much since he was already beaten by Cheato ,Pacquio and then Floyd .

they beat him convincingly in different ways...

with the Mayweather fight, it was much easier to score because each round that was won, was won clearly..

with the Trout fight, the majority of the rounds were close and some could have went either way..

Margarito put him on his knees. Doesn't get more convincing than that.

Trout did not beat Cotto more convincingly. mofo was taking power shots and didn't manage to hurt Cotto the way Floyd did

 Trout - Cotto was pretty much a shutout. Cotto had some moments but he never really got into that fight

Cotto - Floyd was very competitive to the last bell, and he won a good 4 rounds , and if he didn't gas late he could have possibly gone on to win.

Trout. That wasn't because he's more skilled than Mayweather though. He had an easier time with Cotto mainly because Cotto himself is a lot smaller than and not as strong as Trout, whereas even midget T-Rex arms Cotto was noticeably bigger and stronger than Floyd in close quarters. Floyd's greater skills and gas tank enabled him to get the W over Shotto. Shotto lost a little worse to Trout mainly because of Trout's physical attributes and advantages rather than because of his skillset. From a skills perspective, Trout is very overrated, inferior to guys like Floyd, Martinez, Ward, etc.

Trout - cotto was pretty much a shutout . He was getting outboxed and outmuscled,, never got into that fight in a significant way. How many rounds did you give Cotto? I don't think I gave him more then two, but its been a while .

Cotto - Floyd was more competitive.
