Can't argue with much there. Only thing is Calzaghe wasn't known much or looked into by the majority till Lacy started calling him out over and over, Calzaghe's chin and power weren't thought high of going in against Lacy for some reason due to his age(Calzaghe was 35 at time?), the majority(myself included) thought Lacy's age, power and aggression would carry him in this one.

I wouldn't blame Shaw much, he did what he had to do. It was Lacy who constantly demanded a fight with Calzaghe and he got what he asked for. His managemet should have talked him out of it but what other options were there at the time?, none and they planned to reign at SMW.

Its tough. A prime Calzaghe outclassed an undefeated prospect who many predicted to KO him, but a 40 y/o shot Jones stopped ,a presumably out of prime, Lacy. Both would be incredibly humiliating for Lacy, but Im leaning more towards Calzaghe.

roy clowned a fellow dead carcass with more less life then him

while calzaghe distroyed and took the soul of a dude who was being picked to destroy him

    pathetic thread

  5. Seriously....

Calzaghe gave one of the biggest beatings of the decade. Not even close.

    This.

The question didn't ask which fighter beat the better Lacy, as most people seem to mention this fact.

^ well duh, obviously roy is gonna have a easier time of it facing a dude who's already been ruined so off course it has to do with the version, it's intertwined in the question

The fight with Calzaghe should have been stopped in the 9th or 10th imo. Both beatings were bad, but the Calzaghe one seemed even more one sided and worse even though it wasnt a TKO or RTD.

    What a load of rubbish!

Lacy was a far better fighter when Calzaghe fought him than he is now (when Jones fought him).

You'll do anything to find a way to side with the black man over the white and to continue your hate for Calzaghe :-(

Lacy fought against Jones with one arm.

Nope, especially NOT in the same sense that Jones/Lacy was pointless. Not even close.

I did think Calzaghe would dominate Jones, as he did, but that fight (at that time) made a lot more sense than Jones/Lacy.

A better analogy would be that Jones/Lacy was pointless much in the same way Jones/Green will be pointless.
