After watching Dmitry's performance last night I couldn't help but be impressed. Do you think he had a better performance against Barrera than Ward?

Barrera gave them both a good fight but in the end he got schooled by both men. Bivol managed to stop him.

    Similar performances imo.

ward also doesn't have bivols power.. so even though they both schooled him the guy with the power is usually gonna look more dominate.

Bivol, BUT, his lack of power genuinely shocked me, Barrera does not have a good chin, at all, that's why I confidently picked Bivol to stop him, Slava, Smith Jr. and Valera landed glancing blows and dropped him like a sack of potatoes, but thankfully for him, he was the better technician against all three of those guys, and shored up his defense, not allowing them to land that cleanly for the rest of the fight. But Bivol landed hard hurtful perfectly placed punches, sometimes in combination on Barrera last night, and while a few rocked him here and there, the fact that Barrera took them that well, when they were landing that flush, is a massive warning sign to me, Bivol lacks elite level power.

Good for him, he did a better job on Barrera than Ward, but he should have been able to get him out of there in less than 5 based on the sheer number of clean punches he landed.

Bivol but you can't really draw any meaningful comparisons from it imo considering it was only wards second fight at LHW and was a his second tune up after a long lay off. Not making excuses but i honestly do think the "on form" ward after kovalev fights would have done a much better job on barrera than he did the first time.

Yes, fair point. Also the harder puncher is likely to look more dominant in victory than a spoiler like Ward. For all we know Kovalev (who has even more power than Bivol) might well have stopped Barrera even quicker, in fact I would pick him to stop Barrera mid-rounds.

Still impressive from Barrera considering it was only his 13th fight.

You don't see many light heavyweights throwing beautiful and meaningful combinations. Bivol's speed, concentration and determination are at the highest level.

Ward hadn't perfected his groin shot yet.

This. Bivol put on a good performance, but Ward completely toyed with Barrera. Ward was inactive and still easily schooled Barrera.

Barrera was a good win, but Bivol still needs to beat Gvozdyk and Beterbiev, since that would really say how good he is.
