No one in a one off superfight 12 rounder under modern interpretations of the rules. Dump Roy in eras where he has to fight multiple 15 round fights against guys who can bend the rules more freely then I'd say he would pick up a loss eventually.
Hagler would lose to Monzon, Toney and Hopkins and get obliterated by Jones. Vito Antefuermo doesn't trouble RJJ. The husk of RJJ today would beat a welterweight moving up in weight after a three year layoff. I see why you love him though, what a sexy mustache eh?
That's all well and good if you're into sexy mustaches, but don't project your desires onto me. Your avatar makes it a bit obvious that you're a Homo. This content is protected
Maybe if Sergio Martinez makes him homo in the ring suddenly.(Why do you think Chavez Jr threw so little until he realized in round 12 Sexio would always reject him) Otherwise nobody.
Just my opinion, Hopkins gave a good account of himself in defeat. Don't you think it's easy to imagine a lot of other great guys at 160 can do much better. Hagler was ferocious and an all-time badass. When Roy fought Hopkins, he was conservative and seems wary of B-Hop's power. He'll have no time to be conservative against Hagler, who'll be in his face all night long.
It's just a different way of ranking fighters. You rank them based on resume, he ranks them based on h2h, others do a bit of both.
A prime Hopkins has a good chance. Not the Hopkins that fought RJJ but maybe the one that fought Tito.
That's only if Hagler decides to fight that way and charge Roy, a style in which he rarely fought. If Hagler fought in his usual style, it'd be interesting to see how Roy would deal with his jab. Roy became terrific at countering right jabs, especially with the left hook, but that was more so at the higher weights when he got more experience. At 160, Roy was relatively green and didn't face southpaw after southpaw like he did at 175.
