It doesn't matter if you think Nunn was closer to his best.

We're looking solely from Roy's perspective.

Also, if Nunn had almost all of the attributes that made him the best fighter on the planet, how did he end up losing to Toney, Little, Liles and Roch?

Not at all. I just believe that Jones could only possibly lose to fighters from his own era, and make no mistake I will enjoy debating this with Jones #1 fan Loudon for many a day ( hopefully ) but I just don't buy this nonsense about slow, plodding, deliberate fighters from yesteryear posing any kind of problems for what we know of him.

Moore Charles and Walcott were slow and plodding?

    Garbage.

I'm glad you have given me the opportunity to show I have not changed sides.

At 60 or 68 there are guys I would comfortably back to beat Jones. An " active " Leonard, Tommy with his freakish power, and Hagler with his work rate and chin. It was at 175 Jones showed incredible, speed, athleticism , and reflexes, compared to all other 175 pounders.

Again we ALL know by fight time Jones was a lot nearer 190 than he was 175.

This simply proves to me that you can not have seen Jones fight.

What the hell are you waffling about " A Jones hook "?

When he was on his game it wasn't A left hook, it might have been anything from 2 to 6 of them, all thrown at lightning speed, then gone, before the other guy can even THINK about countering.

At least have the courtesy to watch some of his fights before you post your old bollox.

In a nutshell no Light Heavy, before 93 ( and by extension no small, or plodding Heavy from the 50's ) is going to have an answer for the speed, reflexes, and all around athleticism of Jones Jr.

If you lived in England during the Eubank reign or were among the US fight fraternity, you couldn't say that.

Mayweather is liked and respected, by comparison especially.

    Give over.

And stop making it a Eubank thread.

No trolling at all, just pulling you up on the fact that you have got to make everything you write on here about Eubank. Why?

If you lived in the US you would see that Mayweather is universally far more disliked than liked.

Moore was a fantastic fighter going into the Marciano and on his best run going into Marciano, Harold Johnson was a great fighter as well. Interesting comment by Marciano stating" Harold Johnson was KO'd by one man Walcott and his father was KO'd by him as well so he knows not to sleep on an old man"
