Who beats Ali? No hedging your bets, who do YOU pick to straight up beat him?

Can you point out some examples please? I can't recall any wherein Ali danced for 15 rounds off the top of my head and I have all his fights scheduled for such. I'd like to check again. :good

I have every Ali fight available. I seem to remember him dancing against Foreman for as long as the fight lasted. That particular affair lasted just under 8 rounds. If he danced for that duration then surely he could have done it over 15, yeah? Ali wasn't even in his prime for that fight. So if he was in his prime then surely he could have doubled what he did against Foreman. Maybe I'm difficult to understand and confusing. Maybe just me, sorry.

Angelo Dundee once said that Ali's legs were so good he danced for 25 rounds in sparring.

Don't discuss the Holmes fight. That was merely a shadow of Ali. But that would have been a good fight prime v. prime, if only because Ali couldn't have hurt Holmes. The prime Ali I think would have won a reasonably clear decision on speed, but you can't really tell without a good working time machine.

After his comeback he usually didn't dance the whole fight. Against Foreman he did not dance much. He smartly let George punch himself out by doing the rope a dope. But again, the 1974 Ali, great as he was, was not the best Ali.

I wouldn't favour anyone against a prime Ali. A few have an outside chance.

Lewis - how would Ali fare against a true super heavy?
Prime Tyson - a confidence fighter with a punchers chance
Frazier - clearly got the style to give him a difficult fight, but I still think Ali by 4 or 5 rounds is the most likely result

I can't see why anyone would give any version of Holmes a chance?

    Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano

I think Frazier said something like that if himself could had beat Ali, he was 100 percent positive that these two would beat him. It mean not much, but its funny

The common perception that Ali could dance for all 15 rounds is wrong and I get annoyed every time I hear it mentioned.

He never did it, it's not possible for someone that weighs as much as he did to do that.

I think it would be pretty difficult to dance around for fifteen rounds with Frazier the pit bull at your feet.

He did alright for 12 when 32 years old. He coasted for a couple of rounds and did his fair share of holding, but his movement held up good I would say.

To be fair, though, he didn't stand still for long against either Terrell or Chuvalo. While he didn't "dance" the whole time he moved for the most part.

Marciano??? Swamrmer??? Please!!! Whilst moving forward, he generally bounded or lunged in a forward motion. There is no way in the world the Marciano would find any easy target in Clay 66-67.. And thats what this thread is alegedly about.

The ability to keep boxing from a distance, which remains comfortable to the fighter, whilst still maintaining the ability to land a ko punch, and avoid severe punishment for 15 rounds, whilst still engaging in formal boxing exchanges.... to me, thats dancing. Clay could/would do this against Marciano with ease. IMO.
