For all of Louis's technique, his punching power and physical strength is trully impressive. He really demolished those giants in his day. I think Holmes gets countered badly late, and Louis finishes him. Ali would be too much however you can certainly argue Louis jabbing and timing Louis all night. Foreman, Tyson, Bowe, I believe would stop Louis.
Louis at his best probably beats everyone aside from Ali. At his best no one was more technically competent or as destructive. Most complete hwt ever to live. We will never see finer.
Here's a couple of yours: Pastrano v Liston. "Pratrano KO 10" "Liston is heavily overrated. Feasted on bums and has beens and then folded like a chair anytime he came up against someone who posed problems. " Lewis v Marciano. This content is protected .
Well if you don't like it either put me on ignore, or fukk off you melt. Alternatively, you could try explaining exactly how Joe Louis handles the dancing Ali instead of bleating like a little lamb.:roll:
Would that be the same Liston who fought half a fight with a broken jaw Mac? Seems like a the new addition to the forum really knows his stuff.:roll:
It's also important to note that Louis is not a small heavyweight. At a stretch you could call him a medium heavyweight but he was a finely tuned 6'2 fighting machine. In this day and age he could easily carry 20lbs of fat to look and fight like a bum. You really see his size after the Clay Liston fight. In height and frame you can see he isn't as small as many think he is. This content is protected This content is protected
It's possible. But it seems considerably more probable to me that Holmes uses his jab, reach, and footspeed to stay out of harm's way for the full 12 (or 15).
I have been watching a lot of Holmes's fights recently, because he is one of my favourites. There is no way he goes 12 or 15 rounds with Louis without getting nailed. Holmes was pretty easy to hit for a top fighter, as David Bey proved. Whether he would stay hit is another matter.
Best way ro beat him is pressuring him He doesn't like it he even admitted it..But that don't mean you'll win but guys like Dempsey would need to really pressure him not fight cautiously Don't let Louis counter punch he's a straight puncher those are better then hooks overall Don't let Louis finish the fight get him quick he's to dangerous to mess with to good a finisher to mess with no time for showboating every second you need to be at your best Good Luck
Holmes always was open for a right hand over that dropped jab. Guess who had the best straight right in hwt history?
