this guy is the best light heavyweight ever IMO.
    he hits hard
    he can box
    he hits hard
    he has a long reach
    he hits hard
    he has a good jab
    he hits hard
    he's tall

Oh, I don't mean Roy Jones in 2015; I was talking about him in his prime.

I don't see any light-heavy beating him today but some of the heavy hitters like Beterbiyev and Stevenson would have a puncher's chance. Gonzalez too, if he fights smarter than he fought tonight.

Foster - Kovalev would've been absolutely epic since both men crack plenty hard enough to KO the other and would've come in with bad intentions.

Billy Conn of the Joe Louis era, and Gene Tunney would have most likely
outmaneuvered Kovalev...But the best LH fantasy fight would have been bob Foster vs. Kovalev at same day weighin...WOW...

A prime Matt Saad Muhammad gives him hell - outlasts and outslugs him.

Im a Kovalev fan butlets be reasonable. Pascal who effectively fights 1 minute of every round gave him issues. Outside 2 wild flurries a round Pascal doesn't do much else. Give me a fighter who can test him for the entire 3 minutes. Saad is almost the same height 5'11 vs 6'0 and has an even longer reach 75 inches vs 72. Saad could really stick that long jab and loved to measure opponents for his killer straight right. Plus you have to add in his love for a firefight and in his prime arguably the greatest chin ever.

Right now the only fighters with even a remote chance to beat him would be Andre Ward or Artur Beterbiev.

Billy Conn had a set of wheels on him. Great movement and Kovalev would have trouble finding him.
