Ezzard Charles. I have zero doubt on this matter.

    Galindez.

I think Vic weathers the storms and catches him with a big shot the final third of the fight.

I knew when I woke up this morning there'd be threads like this.

    Calm down.

    The best LHW EVER?

    Ever?

    Based on what?

You obviously have never seen the ATG's of the division to make a statement like that.

Let's see how his career unfolds, before making these kind of statements.

He'd have made a prime Roy Jones look like a 50 year old Hopkins?

    Right.

There's plenty of evidence available of the great LHW's of the past.

Kovalev is at the top of his game. His power and accuracy in a pound for pound sense is as good or better than Joe Louis.

Who beats Kovalev? Maybe a defensive speedy master who can take a punch ( Ward ? ) or a super durable attacker type who can really punch ( Beterbiev? ) The light heavyweight division is loaded with young talent.

Historically speaking I think Kovalev on talent is a top 10 atg already.

I'd like to see him tested . He stands too upright for me and is not that hard to catch. he is also essentially a long puncher give him his range and he will make mince meat of you ,I want to see how he does when a guy gets inside and bangs away.Pascal showed some clues for me.

If he fought Stevenson and got ko'd all the accolades would look a bit silly imo. Let's wait until he beats some one.

And I think this post is b*llocks. Historically speaking of course.

if all we had of him was newspaper reports and footage so grainy its would make a fight video'd on a nokia 3210 look like HD you would be all over him:lol:

You're spot on about that. We'd be debating whether Joe Louis would have been able to survive against him!

That being said, I do think that you're selling the great light-heavies of the past short.

Except there's plenty of decent footage available of the great LHW's of the past. Check on YouTube.

I said top ten based on talent. Your reply suggests not even close.

Can you name 15 light heavies who had more talent?
