I think even Meldrick Taylor would outwork him. Stylistically, Taylor would be Floyd's worst nightmare. Taylor is every bit as fast as Floyd, if not faster (especially in his combination punching). Taylor throws more than double the punches Floyd does, and that would overcome Floyd's advantages in defense and Ring generalship. And Floyd has not shown the power at that weight to stop Taylor.

Yeah i agree I always thought prime Taylor would give Floyd huge fits. He was actually faster than Floyd and had pop.

Tszyu is one of my favourite fighters but Floyd would have outboxed him fairly comfortably IMO.

Whitaker, Benitez, Duran, Pryor and Chavez all COULD have beaten Mayweather but I'm not sure any of them actually would have. Floyd is just one of those fighters who can adapt in a fight and find a way to win.

I'd pick him other all those names but not with huge conviction though.

Meldrick Taylor and Aaron Pryor. Pryor would put a scare into him.

Meldrick Taylor had no power. Pryor wasn't a smart enough fighter to beat mayweather. Chavez was smart and tough enough but I still see Floyd out pointing him easily. Duran I think would definitely beat him possibly by knock him out.

If I had to pick 1 fighter, I think it would be Pryor. He'd seek to outdo Maidana.

Nope. The only reason Ricky beat Kostya is because Dave Parriss let Ricky fight mma style against the 35 year old Tszyu.

Pea and Duran definitely. Probably Chavez and Pryor too. But May wouldn't have gotten into the ring against those at 140.

Henry Armstrong would look at Mayweather as just another title to add to his Triple Titles to hold at the same time. (Ask Welterweight champ Barney Ross what it was like to be blitzed by Featherweight Champ Armstrong).
