I agree that Jones beats him due to size, strength and power... But just wanted to mention that Leonard in his prime, to me, was a master RING GENERAL. Yeah sometimes it seemed as if he used his footwork and footspeed too much and to be too defensive, but damn, very few fighters could "set" themselves against him. But then again, that did work best against guys who "followed" him around, ala Hearns in the first half of the first fight and Hagler. Which Roy certainly wouldn't be doing.

Hard to say for me who wins p4p outta Roy and Leonard. Leonard certainly is the greater fighter, though. But Roy wins 160 and up.

Solid post mate. That is roughly the same as I feel about Calzaghe vs Robinson.

    Good post Pea.

I'll only put down the guys I favour too. I'd pick Langford and Greb to beat him at all weighs apart from 200, which I'm not sure Langfod cold do confortabley, and i'm not sure Greb could reach.

At 160 i'd add Sugar Ray Robinson, though I wouldn't favour him at these higher weights.

At 200, Dempsey is the obvious choice and I'd add Marciano. Marciano is a nightmare for Jones Junior.

OK, I'm listing guys that I see as 50/50, given that on any night they may beat Roy at the respective weights.

    160 - Monzon, Hagler

    168 - Nobody

175 - Spinks, Foster, Langford (favored), Charles (favored), Moore

200 - Dempsey, Marciano, Holyfield and Joe Louis (all favored)

I refuse Greb only because I have not seen enough of him to properly assess.

Lots of people picking Charles; i'm not so sure on that one. I'm a big, big admirer of Charles and see him as the greater fighter but I don't know, it seems to me he's a fighter who has to land to hit fluidity. Maybe Jones - who has a rythym breaking style without compromising his own rythym - may spell trouble for him stylistically.

This list would be far to long and compicated to write down.
Lots an lots of people is the answer, especially above middle, though maybe only Calzaghe at 168.

Not a nobody, not at all.

Just not good enough to pick over Jones at 168. For me he has nothing like a 50/50 although he would be competitive.

At 160-168 I don't think you can pick any? I mean Jones was lightning quick, evasive skills were uncanny and hit like a mule at those weights. Maybe only Greb? but noone has ever seen this guy fight.

There would be quite a few though at 175-200. There's been many great LHW's and Jones would have a more difficult time at these weights against the best. Although I think he could still match it with the best of em.
