Which fighters would you pick to beat Spinks at 175?

So did Charles. And Charles cleared out a much better division.

Bob Foster is a 50/50 fight
Roy Jones is a 60/40 fight in Spinks's favor

I really haven't seen enough of guys like Charles, Conn & Moore to really make a pick on that. The Davis decision was fair IMO.

He was never appreciated and he never had a payperview showdown at 175.

All due respect, and while he deserved a title shot at 175 he did not fight for that belt. You can’t say he cleaned out a division when he didn’t win the championship.

He would almost certainly have gotten a title shot (eventually) if he hadn’t moved up to heavyweight (as Archie Moore did), but he didn’t quite clean out the division.

I’d rate Ezzard, Moore, Foster and maybe RJJ as the most likely to be able to beat Michael Spinks at 175, but I’d favor the Jinx over anyone at that weight. I think he’s the best ever at light heavy.

I don't follow. He beat the champion as well as all the other notable contenders.

Just because he didn't win the belt doesn't mean he didn't beat everyone at the time.

He also wasn’t undefeated in that weight division either. But he didn’t clean it out because he didn’t win a title fight with the championship on the line. You can’t clean out a division without winning the title.
