Yeah, it was close NYT and Ring both scored the fight close for Spinks, IIRC. I had him winning 115-113. Could go a round closer or wider but Spinks banked enough rounds that a close victory seems appropriate. That score is mirrored by everyone who scored it at Eye of the Ring. To be honest, though, there were only about two rounds (8 and 9) where Spinks had no case for winning. In every other round he boxed well enough and landed enough where scoring it for him isn't out of the realm of possibility. Also, based purely on styles, I think Spinks walks Moore more often than not.
On that we’ll disagree too. Moore, sure, but I’m not sure he’s that far ahead of Qawi. The other three, I don’t known that they’d do any better in the 1970s ... Maxim would be the Mike Rossman of the era who might hold a belt for a shot time, I guess.
Your very lucky, I’m young so I’m limited with what Youtube has. I’m also gonna order his career set just so I can see some more of his fights that aren’t on the internet
To be fair, most of his fights were filmed (brother former HW champ + being an Olympic medalist) and most of them end up on the internet. All of his main fights are on the internet, or have been, coz I've seen them and I'm young too.
I know but I’m someone that likes to see every fight and career sets offer that. I also like having a dvd collection of fights, just think it looks cool.
How could you not be impressed with Moore? Have you only watched him against Ali and Patterson or something? Do you only like all action fighters like Tyson and co? Moore is like an encyclopedia of boxing. Guy is incredible.
Moore, Foster, Johnson, and possibly John Henry Lewis and Jimmy Bivins. The last 3 depending on the rules and era.
It has nothing to do with "like" it's about "never been impressed" with him as a fighter. It's extremely easy to be impressed by Moore, his mad skills in there are obvious. Incredible boxer on film, one of the very best.
