I can kind of see it. Moore's obviously very skilled and hits hard, but never appears entirely unbeatable in any of the fights I've watched. Even at his best, he comes across as someone who could be tagged, hurt, and stopped by a higher level LHW. In terms of eye test, he passes but not always with flying colors.

He's got beautiful moves, a superb all around game and big power. I think this is pretty obvious how great he is when you look at enough of his fights.

He was only stopped by Charles and Morrow in what was a huge outlier. Neither are on film that i know of. That's pretty good given how often he fought and the class of opposition he fought against.

Yeah, he's obviously great. But again, in spite of his skill and power he's never completely enthralled me in the way that some other light heavyweights have. Impressive, sure...But sometimes there to be hit when he didn't need to be. Sometimes plodded after guys. The good outweighs the bad, of course, but I can see why someone might not immediately take to him in the same way they might to faster, flashier guys. Lots of steak, but a little less sizzle with Archie.

I know where you are coming from. One of the key words is "immediately".

Regarding some of your post i think it's hard to look fresh and on top of your game at all times when you are fighting so often and have a long list of ATG's behind you. It's got to be tiring. In later years a lot of greats were fighting more like three times a year so you really expect them to be "up".

He's also more of a technician than a knockout artist despite all the KO's.
