pick the fights you feel that are relevant.. add your own as well upcoming & potential... cotto>oscar cotto>margarito cotto>williams williams>margarito pavlik>hopkins pavlik>calzaghe winky>pavlik paqiou>hatton oscar>hatton maliganagi>hatton clottey>zab thats all that comes to my mind for now
Cotto > DLH - UD Cotto > Williams - KO Margarito > Cotto - UD Williams > Margarito - SD Calzaghe > Pavlik - UD (clear) Hopkins > Pavlik - SD Pavlik > Wright - UD (close) Hatton > Paulie - KO Hatton > Pac - KO (brutal - both fighters down) DLH > Hatton - KO (entertaining, Hatton in front on cards but size tells) To the author - if you really think Paulie will beat Hatton, you need to go and watch some boxing. Paulie was given a gift in the rematch against N'Dou, who is basically a clone of Hatton but 30% less skilled in all departments.
cotto>oscar - close one, I'd favor Oscar though cotto>margarito - Cotto is gonna beat him silly cotto>williams - Cotto by TKO williams>margarito - Margarito would take the rematch pavlik>hopkins - Pavlik by TKO pavlik>calzaghe - Pavlik by KO winky>pavlik - close....I'm now favoring Pavlik due to Wrights inactivity and seemingly "$ only" motivation paqiou>hatton - Hatton stoppage oscar>hatton - Oscar brutal KO maliganagi>hatton - Hatton hugs his way to an ugly UD clottey>zab - Zab by UD
Cotto Cotto Cotto Williams Pavlik Calzaghe Pavlik Hatton Oscar Hatton Zab (if he turns up plus the law of averages and all that) I would put my money on those calls player......
*Cotto UD or late rounds stoppage DLH *Cotto UD Margarito (But Margarito also has the potential to stop Cotto) *Williams TKO late rounds Cotto (If Cotto shows wear against Margarito and has a hard time with the Pace Margarito sets, then that will make it tough against someone like Williams) *Williams UD Margarito *Pavlik UD Hopkins *Pavlik TKO Calzaghe *Pavlik UD Wright ... even though I think that Wright can also beat Pavlik by UD *Pacquiao TKO Hatton *Oscar TKO Hatton *Hatton TKO Malignaggi *Clottey UD Judah
Amir khan TKO7 Nate cambell Malignalli beat Hatton? noway!!!! the greatest boxer of my era beats Hatton and now every1 can apparently win a UD against him??? wtf!
I don't see how Pavlik would KO Calzaghe. Joe tends to toy with come forward fighters, as he did with Kessler from 5-11 (inclusive) when he doesn't get dragged into a meeting of two sherman tanks - Pavlik is great at what he does, but doesn't have the ring savvy to cope with Joe (as Hopkins did) and I see nothing but a clear UD, 117-111 or 118-110 even.
BB that call of 117-111 is just about spot on, depends if Kelly has plans B's and C's which we just dont know about him yet.....
cotto-oscar>close UD for cotto cotto-margarito>close UD for cotto cotto-williams>cotto by TKO williams-margarito>williams UD pavlik-hopkins>pavlik by TKO pavlik-calzaghe>pavlik by TKO winky-pavlik>close UD for pavlik pacquiao-hatton> go with the bigger hatton, but if pac is successful i say toss up oscar-hatton> oscar TKO malignaggi-hatton>hatton close UD clottey-zab>clottey by UD
I think Calzaghe is beatable, very much so. BUT 1. Do not try and out work him - it ain't happening 2. Do not try and win against him on the inside - Joe is very underrated in this area. 3. No wild bombs - unless in last round and losing! Basically - you need to switch from toe to toe, inside and outside fighting, backed up by a pawing left jab and a straight right, which Calzaghe eats all day and night. If you stick to the same tactics all the time (as Pavlik generally does - albeit excellently) you have no chance. Calzaghe has a freakish ability to determine what his opponent is trying to do and work out a way to counter - perhaps his best attribute. For me, the guy with the ideal style to beat Calzaghe (P4P obviously) is Kostya Tszyu. Tszyu had a fair workrate, but not excessive, and had the punches that Calzaghe doesn't like to take. With this in mind, Tszyu was never one to go chasing a fighter, and was quite happy to sit back and take a few shots waiting for the chance to unleash. With Tszyu having a decent chin, and Calzaghe being less than stellar at chasing an opponent down, this is how I reach the outcome!
Cotto Vs. De La Hoya: De La Hoya by UD. Cotto Vs. Margarito: Margarito by TKO. 7th RD. Cotto Vs. Williams: Cotto by UD Williams Vs. Margarito II: Williams by UD Pavlik Vs. Hopkins: Pavlik by UD Pavlik Vs. Calzaghe: Calzaghe by UD Wright Vs. Pavlik: Pavlik by UD Pacquiao Vs. Hatton: Hatton by TKO 10th RD. (Cuts) Hatton Vs. De La Hoya: De La Hoya TKO 11th RD. (Cuts) Maliganagi Vs. Hatton: Hatton by UD Clottey Vs. Judah: Clottey by K.O. 5th Rd. These fights are a perfect example of the aged old saying... "Styles make Fight's"
I don't think the DLH fight would last as long as 11 - Oscar is simply too big. But then again, both have the signature left hook - it is the slashing right that gives Hatton nightmares (see Magee, Collazo & Mayweather). Either way, there would be a 2 on Hatton's record! He would throw Paulie around the ring like a rag doll on way to a brutal KO, and would get off the canvas to beat Manny.
Here is a couple other's just for fun (IMO) Mayweather Jr. Vs. Cotto: Mayweather Jr. by UD Mayweather Jr. Vs. Margarito: Mayweather Jr. by UD Mayweather Jr. Vs. Williams: Mayweather Jr. by UD Mayweather Jr. Vs. Pacquiao: Mayweather Jr. by K.O. 5th Rd. Mayweather Jr. Vs. Hatton II: Mayweather Jr. by UD Mayweather Jr. Vs. De La Hoya II: Mayweather Jr. by UD This is the reason I don't understand Mayweather Jr.'s logic to retire. I can honestly project him winning against all these guy's rather easy. The only peep's with a legit shot at beating him would be Oscar & Miguel. Unless Margarito hit's a Grandslam Homerun, or Williams GIANTism as a WW works in his advantage against the smaller Mayweather Jr?
