I think Martinez stops Macklin in the first 4 rounds he's too fast and Macklins agggresion would work against him

Martinez would look spectacular in this fight and thats no slight on Macklin.

Interesting fight to watch, but I think that Macklin would be too open looking to land his own work and muscle Martinez, and would get taken out sooner than Barker. Macklin is made for Martinez, imho.

martinez isnt as good as people make him out to be. barker just walked about with his hands up flicking a jab, anyone can do that and be safe enough, doesnt mean you are going to win the fight though

Martinez barely went to the body at all IIRC

Barker put out a good blueprint of how to fight martinez, pure boxing, with high volume and straight short punches and the occasional hard straight tossed in but needed way, way more of it

My only question is does Macklin have the jab to keep martinez off balance and disrupt his rythmn? I dont think so

macklins would get caught coming in. he lacks a decent enough jab to do anything on the out side and because he's quite open martinez would just tee off.

This. Macklin's style may lead to him landing more than Barker but he gets hit a lot more and stopped by the 10th at the latest.

Macklin might have more success but like many others I think he gets stopped sooner.

I don't. Barker had early success because they had a nip tuck fight. I can't see Macklin succeeding in that sort of fight. Barker is also quite a big guy. Macklin doesn't have the size or the cute moves. Without a busted nose and cute moves I have Barker losing every round. Macklin would be quite basic from the word go and its just about Martinez stepping it up and Macklin would be out of his depth.

Macklin doesn't have the head movement to survive the opening 6 rounds with Martnez.

I'm surprised this topic had been taken even semi seriously, this in 'Sir Ray' territory for me

As has already stated he is tailor made for Martinez. If I was Di Bella I would probably be looking at this fight next.
