Yea Judah was pretty sharp in the first few rounds against pbf and that WAS a knockdown so when i scored the fight i'm pretty sure i included that even though it wasn't on the official scorecards. And corley did tap him a little. The hernandez incident was a voluntary knockdown lol But i guess thats all folks...he's been pretty clean other than that
Corley, Judah, Hatton, De La Hoya and Castillo have all landed on Mayweather and rocked him, usually early in the fight while Floyd's still warming up and figuring out his timing. Actually in the first round against Hatton he lost his balance after a stiff lunging jab from Hatton, but didn't really look unsteady after that. De La Hoya had him hanging on for dear life once or twice but otherwise Mayweather handled it. At the end of the day Floyd been fighting world-class fighters for the last 5 years, some of whom were all-time greats, some of whom were ranked highly P4P. Of course he's gonna get hit! The only P4P guy who was too good to get hit was Jones, and Pernell Whitaker, and thats the exception not the rule. Floyd isn't quite in that league but he's still pretty awesome.
Nah I disagree. Hatton had success the early rounds, so did Judah and Corley and De La Hoya. But in all those fights Floyd started coming on strong in the middle stages and was well on top by the end. Hatton got knocked out because he paniced and went for broke. Otherwise Floyd specialises in breakding a man down and staying on top to win out points. He's an artist. Floyd always starts slow and progressively figures out then dominates guys. Just coz the guy gets hit occasionally doesn't mean that much, at this level its very rarely a guy is defensively good enough to avoid getting hit.
Imo Hatton just LOOKED like he was having success. I don't think he was really accomplishing anything except for ineffective aggression.
No one has been close to knocking Floyd out. Corely had him hurt a couple of times, yet he still lost those rounds.
HA! Floyd's "ass" has never touched the canvas, you just saw a knockdown on boxrec. Floyd hurt his hand on Hernandez' face and took a 2 second knee. There were moments against Judah, Corley, and even N'Dou where Floyd got hit flush and seem a bit stunned. He's never been in serious trouble in his professional career.
Maybe so, he was putting Floyd under more pressure than but only picked up rounds coz of Mayweather's slow starts, not because he was ever out-boxing Mayweather. once Mayweather got going he outclassed him.
Floyd's best chance of being KO'd is if he gets stupid, and does the UFC., cage fighting, or whatever it is that's been brought up lately. Doubt that happens it's just keeping his name in the news.
he wasnt even picking up rds. if you pay close attention hatton wasnt landing **** really.pbf was beating him on the inside
the title of this thread implies mayweather has come close to being knocked out and this is entirely innaccurate. At most he's been stunned by corley and flash knockdowned by judah. He's never been properly hurt, let alone seriously hurt
