Once you are accustomed to doing one thing ... no matter how much you work on it - you would always go back to what you know. Also depending on level of competition, because most fighters have a ceiling ... and when you find an opponent that ready to push you to the limit ... you have no other options but to do what you've been doing.
Pavlik ate a lot of jabs from Taylor early. Makes me wonder how he's going to handle Kessler's superior jab. He might have to try something different and become less methodical in his approach if Kessler wins the jabbing war, leaving him open to those right crosses.
Not true, your boy Mayweather had a bad flaw when he stood on the ropes and let fighters hit him in the ribs. It happen in the Castillo fight and the Chavez fight. He fixed those flaws and doesnt have that problem anymore.
He now trains full time, unlike during his early fights. Jsimps, who seems to be a home town boy with direct knowledge, say that Pavlik has been working on the defense, especially leaving the hand out after a punch instead of bringing it back into position.
Excuse me but if you know anything about Petty Boy Floyd Mayweather ... you would know that he's comfortable at any part of the ring and when he's up against the ropes - there's nothing to be feared ... he's never in trouble. Add to that bro ... this thread is about Kelly Pavlik ... i'm tired of people accusing me of taking the threads in different directions.
He took right hands from Miranda, McKart (he was knocked down from a right hook) Taylor, Zuniga, and Lockett -- Some of those guys aren't even elite level fighters and he took unneccessary shots from them.
Trying to give you examples bro, it seems all you know is Mayweather. He was in trouble against Castillo in the first fight. :hey
