ill throw in an interesting name I dont think anyone said in this thread yet. Id give Cory Spinks a 25% chance of pulling the upset.
At middle? :think It wouldn't be the same Cory that boxed (or ran, depending on who you ask) circles around Taylor, as he's losing mobility exponentially fight to fight. It would be the take a few steps back, lure you in, then dig in for a barrage of inside punches Cory. That style might catch Pavlik off guard a bit. It might also get Cory KTFO.
Precisely. They don't belong in the same sentence. Pavlik is the # 2 MW. Kessler is he #1 SMW Enough of the foolishness.
Pavlik is #1 at 160, and you know that. Rating him at #2 is pure foollishness. Abraham has never even been in the ring with a world champion, let alone beat one. At least Zuniga, Miranda, and Taylor fought Pavlik before they left the division. Abraham is running away without even putting up a fight. I told you for months Sauerland had no intention of letting Pavlik anywhere near Arthur, and I was right. Sauerland did a great job of keeping Arthur's name in the international news by using Pavlik's name. You sure as **** could not keep abraham's name in the news with such great names as LuJaun Simon and Mahir Oral. Time to wake up buddy. Arthur Abraham is a crude slugger who fights club fighters because that is his level.
I have to agree with you, those "great names" that you mention flood middlweight, funny you mention those "great names" and you do not include the "GREAT" Rubio and Lockett and potentially Mora. Your statement about arthur being a slugger might be correct, but you could not be so dreadfully and ignorantly incorrect about his "level" when he is about to initialize his entrance to SMW, arguably the most competitive division in boxing right now. He "ducks" pavlik according to you, to potentially fighting Kessler, Froch or Bute. He WILL be a force to be reckon with at SMW, mark my words, and if he is a failure(losses are overrated in this forum) I will be the FIRST to admit I was wrong about my prediction about arthurs success at SMW which I higly think will be his best career decision.
Crude slugger at the club level? boo you really can be a transparent hater, man. :verysad Had Pavlik never come along (and thereby, neither the Great Pavlik-Abraham Debate), how deep would the well of vitriol for Abe run? :think
Mark my words; Arthur Abraham is going to get demolished in that tournament. He will not beat any of those guys except Froch. Taylor will clown him, and make him look like a fool. Lockett and Rubio were mandatories, and you know that, so stop playing the fool. Ayala, Simon, and Oral were voluntary defenses. Abraham WANTED to fight those guys. Bute isn't in the tournament. And Kessler? PPLEEEASE!! I thought you liked arthur and here you are trying to get him hurt and hurt badly.
In boxing you are who you beat, not who you call out. Arthur fights club fighters, and that makes him a club fighter. If Pavlik hadn't come along, no one outside of Germany would even know who Arthur is. Sauerland would not have been able to keep Abraham's name in the news by constantly yapping about Pavlik. Abraham called Pavlik out, but let me ask you this: What terms did Sauerland offer for a fight? What venue did he want? What network agreed to show the fight, and how much did they offer? What was the proposed purse split? When they tried to get Sturm, they were quick to release details. How come they have never released any details of an offer to Pavlik? See what I'm driving at? No legitimate fght proposal was ever made because Sauerland never had any intention of making the fight.
They both built their names off Miranda's hype, actually. :yep Pavlik, being American with an American promoter, got the quicker route to an American TV fight and matched up well with Taylor. Abraham is stuck where he is with what he's got to work with.
Actually your post is not accurate at all. Abraham was offered a fight with Taylor in the spring of 2007, but turned it down in favor of a fight with Sebastian Demers. Pavlik was NEVER offered a fight with Taylor. He fought his way up on the spanish speaking TV networks, on Verses and ESPN, and on ShoBox. He had to fight TWO "title eliminators" just to be declared Taylor's Mandatory.
Well your arguement against mine. I think I cannot take this back and forth anymore regarding arthur or Kelly. It just comes back to who did what? Arthur offered the #2 rated middlweight in Sturm a CAREER PAYDAY TWICE? KTFO the # 4 ranked middleweight in Khoren Gevor. Made Raul Marquez, HIS MANDATORY, quit. Came to America and made Miranda look like an amateur who did belong in the ring that night. IBF rankings middlweight #7 Sebastian Demers:KTFO #10 Lajuan Simon: UD #11 Mahir Oral: KTFO Might you ask WHY I bring up the rankings? Read as follows. THE GUY THAT YOU CLEARLY HAVE STATED ARTHUR ABRAHAM HAS "DUCKED", FULGENCIO ZUNIGA, WHO YOU HAVE STATED AS A "GOOD WIN" FOR KELLY PAVLIK is ranked IBF #15, LOWER then the above mentioned fighters. Let's not even get started on Zertuche, WHO YOU ALSO CLAIM AS ONE OF THE BETTER WINS FOR PAVLIK. Your arthur hate is obvious, and I quote non other then you "DO YOUR RESEARCH", "state facts". Unfortunately we will never see aa vs pavlik, in my opinion, aa has made the best decision to go to 168, his natural weight class. Pavlik should not be worried, he still has 1 sturm 2. P will 3. Mundine 4.winky
Pavlik fought his way up the hard way. He had over ten more fights in the division than Taylor and Abraham before he got his shot, despite a squeaky clean KO record. While he had to beat off all the legit top fighters in the division to get a title shot at the de facto MW champ, AA sneaked in to get a shot at a vacant title off the back of a victory against a jarred and washed-up Howard "Battersea Bomber" Eastman. Pavlik was promised a title shot after beating guys like Zuniga and Zertuche, and then had it pulled from beneath him and had to run down Miranda to get the deal sealed.
