At 168 I think Kessler gives him big problems potentially, Froch / Pav a very interesting fight and either man could KO the other, a toss up, I think Calzaghe would have probably beaten him up, Froch / Pav is beats Andrade and Bute and I would probably favor him against most of the Pac at 68 including Abraham at 68

 

For all intensive purposes, consider Pavlik-Taylor II a super middleweight fight. Froch beat Taylor, but hardly with ease (in fact, he could very well have lost that fight). If anything, Pavlik beat a better version of Taylor (within a few pounds of the same weight) with greater ease.

Froch can stop Pavlik, that I don't doubt. He'll be in for the fight of his life though. It will not be easy. Workrate alone will baffle the **** out of him for several rounds. And he'll be eating the hardest shots (and they will not only find a home but have time to wipe their feet on the mat) since Pascal. Maybe even a little harder - remains to be seen.

But your forgetting that Pavlik is limited and can only throw the double jab followed by the right. Froch is more skilled than Pavlik and therefore wins easily by KTFO.

Pavlik fought most of that fight with an injured right hand yet he still hurt Taylor with it in the 11th. How hurt was it? The local TV stations were asking that people not ask to shake his hand.

Hmm. We're so close and yet so far from being in agreement. If there was a poll, my username would appear right there alongside yours under "Froch by KO". However, if Froch is less limited it isn't by much. I don't know that there is the skill disparity you seem to feel is there. Both guys pretty much rely on the weight of their hands more than their skull muscles. Froch may have throw some of the punches in his arsenal with better form than Kelly on the offensive end, but at the same time he's put to shame in the combination dept. And Kelly's defense is probably better (though it isn't world class by any means).

 

Pavlik is a natural left hander. He does more with that left than you seem to realize. I like the way Boo puts it. Is Kelly Pavlik 14 seconds better than Jermain Taylor? And there you have your answer. :deal

 

Kelly throws as many punches as Paul and they are harder. Against Winky a lot of Paul's punches were arm punches. Might get the number up, but you aren't going to keep KP off of you doing that.
