THE TYPE OF FIGHT THAT CAN BEAT VLAD IS A FAST FIGHTER WITH POWER who will go after him early or a solid Jawed fighter with Stamina and power that can attack when Vlad is vulnerable....The thing for Vlad to do now is unify against Peter, Chagaev...take those belts and see who will rise from the ashes...Povetkin has the power, stamina and work rate but is Really lacking in experience (this fight can ruin him) and even if he wins he will be thrown in with the lions.Let the Heavys fight it out like the OLD days to see who wins Areola/Haye would be a good one, Areola has a good win over Witherspoon and Haye is UNproven with the Big boys....Who else may have a chance and what sort of elimination do you suggest ?

Out of the current crop of heavyweights I see only three people who could possibly beat Wlad. I'll say Haye simply because he is aggressive and can hit. Povetkin would be interesting but I would like to see how he would perform first against a tall rangy strong opponent. The only other fighter that would possibly stand a chance is Peter.

Now before some dumb**** quotes me, I'm not saying they would beat Klitschko, but I'm saying these three fighters would stand the best chance.

For me, Povetkin, Peter and Haye stand the best chance.

Povetkin - I believe a fighter that can get inside Wlad's jab and is a good in-fighter could be the best way to beat Wlad. However, getting past that jab is very hard and once inside Wlad will try to hold. Wlad is very strong so his opponent will have to be strong enough to fight him of and get his shots of inside.

Weather Povetkin is good enough to do this i don't know but he's as good as anyone else in the division up close so he stands the best chance. His lack of head movment will probably be his undoing though.

Peter - Wlad would school him again but with Peter's power and Wlad's chin it only takes one punch.

Haye - He is the wild card. Will have the speed but will have to see how his power carries up from cruiser before i make a prediction. His chin and Wlad's power dont go well together from Haye's point of view.

So from my point of view the main challeges to Wlad are a man with the right idea but probably not enough skill's to carry out his idea successfully, a guy who only has a puncher's chance and an unproven fighter.

Povetkin or Haye. I don't make them favourites, but they certainly have the best chance.

I think Valuev could do it.

Valuev is very flawwed, but I think it's a stylistic nightmare for Wlad.
He'd be in there with a HUGE man who he can not push around. Wlad is tentative with little guys, I think seeing a giant across the ring will really sap out some of his confidence.

In order for Wlad to beat Valuev, I think he'd have to jump on him, which Wald has all the physical tools to do, but he does not have the instincts for. I think the fight will be at a slow pace and the giant Valuev would wear on Wlad and eventually stop him.

Haye is a question mark. If Haye can take a heavyweight punch, he could do it with his speed. However the evidence right now points to Haye being a bit chinny. (Perhaps not having to make weight will make his legs, and therefore chin, stronger; but, that remains to be seen)

Valuev - he's big enough to go the distance, and with the amount of tying-up that is enevitable when two very tall men get in the ring, Valuev might be able to wear Klitschko down or possibly injure him

Peter - his chances are minimal at this point, but if is chin hasn't been destroyed by McCline, he may be able to stay in the fight long enough to land a rabbit punch

Povetkin - People tell me he's the one, but I don't see it with this guy. His power is overrated and he gets hit too much to compete with Wlad.

Haye - another fighter that people (Brits mostly) keep telling me has the goods to takeout Wlad. Having seen only a few of his fights, it's clear that he does have fast hands and if his power carries up in weight with him, he's a got a chance to KO Klitschko, but it would most likely have to be early (probably before the 4th round); before his own glass jaw gets busted

Arreola - he has the swarming, heavy-handed, agressive style that would have given the old Klitschko problems. Maybe he can get it done, as I am less than impressed with Klitschko's counter-punching skills.

I would still favor Klitschko to beat all of the above, but nothing is certain in boxing.

    :yep

Sam Peter would have dusted the Waldo express once and for all if the ref paid attention to the damn holding. Oh well. When the rematch comes if Robert Byrd gets the job Waldo can kiss those titles goodbye.
