I would say the second best would be Omar Narvaez, the longtime world champ who finished his career 21-3 in world title bouts. That being said, Narvaez was almost 39 when they fought. Inoue's resume is a little lacking in the quality area.

The Taguchi win is also pretty good. Inoue's list of wins may seem weak when compared to all time greats around his weight range. But if you compare it to top p4p active guys it can hold its own fairly well. How many active boxers would you say have a better list of wins?

When you combine skill, age, and size, I think Rodriguez is probably the second best name on Inoue's CV. If you could pair him versus Narvaez, Taguchi, Payano, etc., in a p4p sense, I think Rodriguez beats all of them.

Narvaez was a fading fighter whose stats look better than the actual depth of his resume, especially after the Donaire defeat.

    Inoue is so overrated

His best win is a 40 year old man (life and death fight)

Inoue was 7-0 and a mere 2 years into his pro career when they fought. A prime, much larger, highly-ranked, rampaging P4P Donaire couldn't put a dent in him and cruised to a decision win.

After Inoue destroyed Narvaez, he went on to win 5 more fights before losing to the big punching and dangerous Tete. The much larger Tete was Ring rated #1 at bantamweight and he too couldn't put as dent in Narvaez.

Narvaez fought THREE monster punchers, but only the Monster blew him away.

3-0 Inoue was still in diapers when he beat Taguchi's ass.

Old wily Omar probs the best on paper.

But others will marinate over time.

I think it's a very real possibility guys like Maloney and Rodriguez can bag a title once the Monster moves on to conquer other divisions.

Donaire was 36 and followed up by winning a title. Holmes gets more credit for beating a 35yo Norton that did nothing after than Inoue gets for beating a 36yo Donaire who had just won a title and won a title again after.

Very casual responses so far. Makes me realize 99% of you guys didn't watch the lower weights until Inoue KOd Donaire.

    As for the real list:

    1. Donaire
    2. Taguchi
    3. Hernandez
    4. Rodriguez
    5. Narvaez

He’s beaten a lot of very good fighters, but outside of Donaire, he is kind of lacking in terms of wins over elite level guys. It’s not really his fault though; there really just aren’t any other guys right now I’d consider elite in his weight class. I do wish he’d fought some of the top guys at super fly though, such as Estrada and Chocolatito.
