Benn is a cheat so very bad, Hearn and Kalle a complete disgrace for the spin and cover up but the award goes to the BBBoC who were happy to let this fight proceed until the failed test went public. This result has been known long before this week and boxing is in a very bad place with the entire governance of the sport in disrepute. Heads need to roll at BBBoC and proper governance put in place with people appointed that will take a hard stance on PEDs and corruption in the sport.
All three of them but I've voted Hearn Kalle has got away very very lightly to be honest but that embarrassment of a man should have the more of the spotlight on him. People are also praising Eubank Jnr throughout this week for his conduct etc. But he was happy for the fight to go ahead to line his pockets too. Regardless of what message that sends out. Why is he getting any praise at all? He shouldn't get any. Would have had more respect if, once he found out, he said no the fight is off.
Benn will come out of this the worst, he’ll get fined and a ban maybe even sued by the other fighters if Matchrooms indemnity insurance and contract has a clause for drugs & cancellations. Hearn and matchroom will come out of this looking the worst because of public perception. Really the BBBOC should be held accountable for their failures in governance over this event. Bad week for British boxing all round
Hearn, by a mile. HE wanted the fight to go on. And for what? A few quid? I know that any publicity is good publicity, but would you want to fight for him? And fight against him? I know he's a solid pro, but he's devoid of a moral compass when money is involved. Like, it's genuinely unnerving to watch him talk about this. Watch the latest interview with Kugan and look at his eyes... he's easily up there with Don King in terms of walking over someone for money. This could have had some seriously life changing implications for Eubank had it gone on, got seriously hurt, and Benn got popped. Life changing. My respect for Chris Junior has gone up 100 fold. Like him or not, he does come to destroy. But to actually go through with the cut, nail it, and behave how he has through this with his Dad in a bad way? He's some man, let me tell you. Hopefully he gains a lot more fans and gets some big paydays. Definitely came out of this looking good.
Hearn had a bad week but he’ll move on to other cards, and in America there won’t be much interest in this. Benn won’t be able to move on unless he blames poor mental health, I expect this to be the case at some point. Kalle, no one really cares.
The business of boxing comes out worst. Plenty fighters, trainers and other sporting participants have been super honest about their view of the saga. The fact that major promoters, here and in the US, haven't had anything of note to say - at a time where there's never been more coverage of the sport in various forms, says an awful lot about some awful people.
Jnr was supremely confident of getting the job done regardless and wanted the payday, he didn't see any risk in working out how to beat a juiced up Welter.
Where are the responsible people at BBBoC ? It was only because it was leaked to the press otherwise the fight / event would have been completed. Shocking. There should be consequences.
Oh I'm sure - as will be the case in all sports at some level. It's the business of boxing that allows it to go on though; if they cared enough then it would be sorted out.
