With the Wilder fight not looking likely until Spring if it even happens at all, who might AJ realistically fight next? I’ve heard Eddie say several times he wants to get him out in December? Also who would be deemed PPV worthy? KABAYEL? BAKOLE? ORTIZ? RUIZ JR III? CHARR…?
Charr. The other names you mention are too dangerous. It should preferably be an opponent that AJ can look good against.
It will be kabayal. once again another aj sparring partner and he’s yet to have a big fight, may as well get a big pay day by now
Did Hearn not say Kabayel priced himself out of replacing Whyte? Maybe he'd take less to do the fight at proper notice, but anything more than Helenius got last time and you'd have to assume it goes on PPV...
He could also take a fight that would be very easy to sell to the casuals despite the foe in reality being a complete no hoper. I'm talking about a fight with Dubios. If you tell the casuals how he actually won agianst Usyk and deserves his chance they'll eat that crap up. I could see Hearn giving it serious thought. The only reason I could see it not happening is Frank Warren wants the stool pigeon to be his next zero threat man Fury can fight while he snorts and drinks himself into oblivion without properly training.
Big David Price. Imagine if the big D came out of retirement and beat AJ. What a story that would be. I miss watching Pricey fight.
Looks like he will need another opponent after using Wilders name to build the excitement from AJs last fight. Wilder next nonsense. I think unless late replacement it will be PPV. Could be Whyte id he can wiggle himself out of failed test (unlikely in time frame imo.) Seen Bellew said he would like Ruiz next for AJ. Hearn says a step up. Wonder if its in pipeline hence Bellew saying that. It won't be Bakole thats for sure. Hearn said likely to be abroad. Hunter, and Kabayel could get the fight. Both got wins over a UK based fighter. That would help promote fight. Neither a Knockout specialist. Both very inactive. Fits alot of boxes from Matchroom's view imo.
Your first paragraph isn’t right. Joshua and Wilder were negotiating with Saudi Arabia and had agreed terms prior to Joshua fighting Helenius. This is why the talk of Wilder vs Ruiz Jr stopped. However, Saudi Arabia haven’t sent contracts to either fighter and are stalling. There is change involving certain promoters there and Joshua doesn’t want to put his career on hold staying inactive. Joshua will now be subject to a huge site fee offer from Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately for Wilder he doesn’t have many other big-money fights available especially with the money Ruiz Jr has been asking for. If Joshua were ducking Wilder, don’t you think that Wilder and Finkel would have said something? Remember that it was publicised from Saudi that Joshua, Wilder and Usyk were all in for their original plan on December 26. The only one who wasn’t compliant was Tyson Fury!
This would be Hearn's first choice. Delboy somehow said he wants 3 more fights before retirement and I can see Eddie dropping his name quite soon to test the water.
It’s becoming quite worrying to watch Chisora box on. From a care point of view, I wish he would retire.
